Inch or inch-and-a-quarter?
I have to second what Risu states. These are not Chicago screws or snaps. Most snaps out there have a domed top while Chicago screws have threaded long stems. These are definitely raised about 2-4 mm and have an edge. The tops are very flat and all edges are 90 degrees. Search Etsy for magnetic snaps you will find lots of them. I am going with 10mm width on my bag strap.
Thanks so much for providing this info - I found them!"Oval grommets" on etsy or aliexpress has them. They're sold out of china.

omg, thanks for pointing that out, man! I had already ordered the One Inch ones and am hoping that he didn't pop it into the mail yet...(sent him a quick note...crossing fingers...toes...schpleen)It looks to me the strap that passes through the grommets is an inch so I would go with the inch and a quarter.

From videos I've seen, you can easily set the grommets from the back with other tools, like a screwdriver. I'm going to try that before spending the big bucks on the specialized tool.I can't believe I'm about to spend $40+ on an oval grommet tool, but here we are. :facepalm
Edit: Can't seem to hunt down a 1.75 inch D-ring. Any ideas?

Keep in mind that the strap gets wider after it leaves the buckle. The two ends that wraps around the buckle loops are cut in a bit to fit. It's more likely to be the 2" D-ring.
Do you mean this size change?

Or do you mean that immediately after the buckle, like how it looks squished into that space?
You may be right, it might be a 2 inch. I bought some 1.75s when I saw them just in case, but 2 might be better.
