The Shredder...FINAL COSTUME PICS!!!!!!!!

I know there is a TMNT characters thread but not sure eveyone sees it. So I started the TMNT 2 shredder and I had made the helmet piece, forearm guards, shin guards, and face mask out of aluminum at my dads shop.....the face mask needs to be cleaned up the welder was giving us all sorts of problems, but the head piece needs some minor grinding and filling, and it should be good after that. The good news with them being made of metal is I should be able to make castings of them once they are finished and ive worn them for their 2 apprences. So without further BS heres some pics

ill have more updates once the sanding and painting begins

Man, that's looking GREAT so far! It's nice to see someone making real progress on a Shredder helmet replica after all these years - especially from the second film.

If I could make a suggestion, perhaps you could try sculpting and casting your replica face mask out of a sturdy material like urethane resin instead of sheet metal...It'd be lightweight and not nearly so dangerous or heavy to wear. You'd also have a much easier time finding a way to affix it to a helmet.

death curse your right on with that one...the face mask will either be made out of paper craft or sculpted from urethane foam and vac formed.....the metal mask just wasnt working the way i wanted it to. Thursday ill be making the foam master for the actual helmet piece, and if theres any extra foam left ill make a brick to make the mask and i've already bondoed(sp?) the seems and grinded down the weld marks on helmet piece.....not to mention finally got fabric for the suit and cape, though the purple i got might need to be darkened slightly

been awhile since I've updated but here is some pics of the Helmet shell

it was a paper craft helmet, which then was fiberglassed. The last part will be to get the hat liner in to keep it from moving on my head. The face mask is being done by a metal fabrication place. Expenisve but it will hold up and there may be a possibility of it be cast

So I'm gonna go finsih the cape and rest of the suit maybe more pictures later tonight !!!!

I always felt the movie version was a bit of a letdown from his cartoon look, but your progress looks good.

completed pics from phoenix comicon 2010.....thanks to Cklinejr for the ooze canister...pretty sure even some people were still lost on who I was but none the less I think it came out great for my first ever self made costume. Though I believe the face mask is a bit big my friends said it did a great job of hiding my face but it will definatley go into retooling and size checking before I start making castings of it... any constructive critisizm would be appreciated

as far as constructive critisim goes, if this is supposed to be shredder it shouldn't have the spiked helm that's part of the super shredder costume. if its the super shredder costume the shoulders should be a lot more spikes and bigger with the armor swooping down to cover the pecks too. here's some pics

I love the Helmet from the first movie.....the "bladed" version is from part 2 before he became Super Shredder.........but your helmet looks great man, keep up the good work
