Well i didn't get it casted just yet there was a hell of alot of touch ups and alphatech gave me a huge tip on how to clean up my lines so i spent the weekend working on clean up but now i am alot closer to having it done. here is some close ups of what i did.

Not very much at all. this is going to be the toughest one so far but i have a good game plan so there is no disasters. I plan on having my minions help they just don't know it yet! i plan on having a casting party !

OK , you probably noticed i have not made the mold yet . After talking with alphatech i added some more life like skin texture. here is the updates for what i have done so far.
I would like some input if anyone has any. good or bad , it helps to keep me honest with not going cheap.
I know it is going to be covered up but like jeff said you might want to go without a backpack some day. And i do like the Shaman look

You are definetly on the right track. The skin is starting to look much more organic and life like. I still think the deltoids should be beefier. You know what opinions are like though.

Well i am on to the dreaded molding process After carefull consideration I have decieded to make this bad boy with a fiberglass resin mold. Now heres how i did it.
Materials :
2 packages of fiber resin matting 4.95  each
3 quarts of resin and it comes with hardener  16.99 each
I bought this just in case 3 extra tubes of hardener 2.98 each
6 chip brushes  .99 each.
i made the border out of wet clay and used 2x6 on there side with some other wood shims to level it out and then i pushed in toothpicks around the edging to make sure it would not slip apart
Now what i did was equal out a full can of the resin and measured it on a once scale and it came out to roughly 12 oz each  it says 10 drops per oz so 120 drops per cup and then i got to mixing . I put 3 layers on it then i used the 2 nd can to do the fiberglass matting . after that process i had a few rough edges so i sanded them and poured about another 20 ozs on to top and built up my border and when it was dry i pulled my wet clay from around the edges and did a little trimming and here we have one side of it done. It took about 5 hours by myself i plan on getting after the other side pretty quick so i can get a torso pulled I have 4 gallons of latex left over from my last suit . so i might practice working the mold before i make my silicone one for the real deal. let me know what you guys think .

Nice work dude. I can't believe you actually took the time to post some pictures. It appears to be a total success. Only one half to go.

Ok Now that i have that done .  I have already made the torso and poured it in latex and installed a zipper now i just have to post some pics of all of it . I will add them tomorrow but i put up several pics of the fiberglass mold and it worked awesome . Thanks again jeff for showing how that is done ( He is The master by the way )  Now i decieded to work on a backpack here is some pics of the sculpt . I was originally wanted to go a little original but i had to go on the Narin side of things i think it looks better than the same old suit . And the fiberglass torso is awesome i am so glad i made one . being able to work on an actual size model is the bomb !
and i can try out different stuff on it to see if it will fit or look good . i will post more tomorrow now that i got the new camera figured out.

Man I can't believe it some update pictures. I am really liking the way that chest piece is looking. Damn I need to get my but in gear.

Ok here are the pics of the torso in latex . i said i was going to do it so here they are. i also took a picture of the inside lining that i glued in with rubber cement . it took 3 bottles but it is all in there .I also padded where the larger muscles are with quilting batten i used latex to glue the edges so it isn't bumpy inside.  And i took a picture of the zipper i installed in ther i have a flap that will cover it so no worries .The arm is where i used the pros aide and cabosil mix to fix the seams . that stuff works awesome ! let me know if anyone has any opinions on what i did or questions . they are welcome REALLY !
and yes 2 days in a row jeff . that's a record

To everyone who is watching this thread thanks i look forward to seeing some comments good or bad on this and and advise on the next step. i have finished sculpting the backpack and the medicomp kit is almost done . and i just got in my smooth on silicone for the molding process. i will be doing it over the holiday weekend because i don't seem to have a life. This will be a 1 piece mold except for the gun stand it will be poured seprate. after it is all dry i will do the mother mold and it will be made out of fiberglass for durability and lightweight due to the electronics and sound system i will be installing.

It's about time you gave us some updates. This build looks freakin great. The details are very nice and look to be very original. I'm really liking the looks of the med kit also. I know you have some photos with it in place on the vest. Get um up brother. I can't say enough about the coolness of this. Have fun with that molding this weekend.

Yeah i do .... Great now i have to post those too! but that's ok i will have pleanty of pics to post on tuesday. Now i know Alphatech isn't the only one looking at this post ! I NEEEEED FEEEDBAAAACK ! it can't look that bad ? i know it needs a little work but damn ! YOU WANT TO SEE PAINT DON'T CHA !

Like it very much Sir.  I am planning a new backpack as a next project and will be saving your pics for reference.  More pics please of every stage pretty please.. :D .

As promised here are the pics of the weekend . I started by making a border on the mold to catch the silicone. I hate to waste the stuff. and then i built a stand to lay it on it's back so i could work on a horizontal platfom. and i deceided to use REBOUND 40 for the base coating. it took about 1 gallon of silicone to do this part and i had 1 gallon left for other projects it went on pretty well , i added some thi vex to thicken it up so it would hold on better and it was much easuer to work it but dont use it on the first coat you want to catch all that cool detail.
Now on to step 2 I did the mother mold in ultra cal but next time i would use fiberglass it was vey heavy any bulky to work with. i cast it in one piece thinking it might slide out of the mold and NO it would not budge so i hade a back up plan and i took my recipricating saw and very carefully cut down to the silicone in 2 places and then it came apart perfectly.
Now after that scary event at 12:30 on a saturday night i pulled the clay out and trimmed all my silicone and put it back on the fiberglass body and ulta caled it back together and put some webbing in it to make it strong and . went to bed
Sunday morning i got up at the crack of dawn and started fiberglassin the silicone i started by pouring about 10 0zs of resign in it and brushed it around on 1 side and then another 8 ozs to the other side. once that was dry i cut out pieces of mesh and did it all over again with the same amount and let it dry. and with the help of a friend of mine i was able to pull the mold and the fiberglass out of the mother mold. but i reccommend making this a 2 part mother mold it was a bitch to get out . now all i have to do is add more resin in some spots that need it and pull the silicone off. that will be a tonight project.
Let me know wht yoiu guys think of this hot mess!!! here is a peak at what it looks like under the silicone. i can't wait !!!! it looks so bad ass !!!

This is looking great.

One question i have is if you have sculpted the backpack and armor on the fiberglass mold and not the final skin, wont the finished backpack and armor be a little small?

cant wait to see the final suit. Keep up the good work!!

Ok this all looks great but come on what's with that last photo. Just a teaser of the final product. Show it dude. Like I said before that was a very ambitious weekend project. You're a bad dude.i

i added extra clay to that part when i made it. I have sliiped my arn into it and it is gonna fit me perfectly i also have room to leave a little or take some out.
And i cannot take it all off or i will never get it back in all the way . I still have more resin to add but rest arrured you will get the first look Big guy!
