Okay we have 8 days left. I must admit that I have really missed the group of us that played the first Modern Warfare. We seemed to play every night for a year. Then when World at War came out we all kind of lost interest. (Doesn't help that the game was not that great.)

So what are you looking forward to?

Me, I can't wait to call in the gunship and mow people down from the air. I'm also really looking forward to the co-op tactical aspect.

WaW was OK once you played it for a while, but Modern Warfare was just awesome. can't wait till the second one comes out!

I've been refreshing as well this week. I just looked at all the multiplayer perks/weapons/kill streaks. Wow. Gonna be interesting.

No, I'll be doing the multiplayer. I still play Modern Warfare all the damn time. Bought Arkham, played for five minutes and went back to COD4. Picking up the prestige edition at midnight next week!

I heard that it might get delayed because in a certain point on the game you play as a terrorist and your in an airport shooting civilians. There have been protests against this and the game makers were thinking of deleting this from the game.

Did anyone read reports of people getting banned from Xbox Live for playing the game early? Apparently it's only pirated copies that are getting them banned as legit people playing early are still good.

MW2 dumped campaign co-op. They couldn't make it work. Instead, they added "SpecOps" missions that are playable by up to 2 players.

The scene is designed to evoke the atrocities of terrorism.

In addition, Activision said that before starting the game, which is rated Mature by the ESRB, players must pass through a mandatory “check point,” a warning that upcoming gameplay may contain “disturbing elements, and they can choose not to engage in the gameplay that involves this scene.”

If I end up getting this, I'd go campaign first, too. I haven't ever really played any COD games online. Well, COD2 or 3 for like 10 min, but it sucked. Nothing but spawn camping and spammage in deathmatch. I've been playing BF: Bad Company Gold Rush mode instead, which I enjoy far more.

Oh yeah, THAT'LL calm the parents and watchdog groups down. "Well, it's only OPTIONAL that you run around killing civilians." Why not include a terrorist level in a school? :rolleyes

This is, plain and simple, an attempt to generate controversy. It'll last for about, oh, at most two weeks, and then it'll disappear and people won't care. The only time it'll come up again is if there's some incident where a gamer goes on a shooting spree and they discover the game in his collection. Although, to be fair, they'd say the same if it were GTA4, CounterStrike, or whatever.
