The Noob Field Guide to Pep Costuming

How about "Replica Costuming Wiki"? Cosplay implies wearing/acting (and somewhat lower quality, depending on who you talk to), whereas putting in replica ties it to the forum's efforts and makes it less exclusive. Just my thoughts. (Full disclosure: total cosplayer here. Not fun for me without the acting and stunting.)

This place is making me a costume making addict and TheArmor is feeding my addiction. All the good stuff in one place. XD

I agree completely, Replica Costuming Wiki it is! :D

MadMikee, this isn't a Q & A for the pep method, but you can learn a lot on the 405th about the fiberglass methods and safety guidelines, the site is a bit wonky, but there's still a lot of information that you can take from it, I hope you can help you with your endeavors.

:( I'm contributing to an addiction!!! :lol I'm glad you find this helpful, I'm getting the wiki up as we speak, I will begin contacting pepakura file modellers in the coming weeks about posting links to their works.

I'll post a link to the wiki when I can. Have a Happy Easter everyone!

Great idea, but not great in practicality when you have 0 skill as a webmaster :( I need some help with it, if anyone knows how to work with wiki's, websites, and anything else of that nature PM me and we'll talk.

Yeah, I guess we are both in the same water :p

Here's a link to what I have started, the colors are all going to be changed mind you, but the tabs are mostly done (though I have no idea how to set them up to actual pages, they just keep linking back to the home page :( ).

I can convert an OBJ with Pepa Designer...

Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do for the wiki, but I've added a link in the tutorials for Drack's method (which you should really check out, it's awesome!).

Thank you man that means alot to me. I should have done more tutorials but by the time I think about it I am half way through. Maybe I should try and remember when doing my Ironman suit remake.

Edit: Man now you have forced me to update my first post (didn't realise it was a link to it). Will do it in the next week. Will have it as a complete guide to foam building minus a few bits that I haven't tried yet.

I'm looking forward to it, maybe I'll be able to learn how to do foam costumes XD

Don't worry that you haven't contributed "enough", you've done a wonderful job, as well as creating wonderful costumes.

Well what can I say :$. Just knowing I am doing my part is enough for me but I once promised more and still haven't delivered so this needs to be a kick up the back side to get the vids done. I have learned so much from both 405th and RPF so I should really give back some more. I will be starting a plastic covered foam build so I should film it to cover both disciplines. Plastic coating will be new to me but I am sure I can do it :)

Sounds great :) I'll be following your progress into this new medium, and I'm sure you will be able to (I mean, isn't your previous achievements proof of that? :p ).

Alright everyone, I've added links to (drumroll) FORUMS! I've now added links to other forums for costuming, maybe if you want to get into a more specific costuming genre then maybe these will help you do so.

Hi Armorer do you know what happened to the link?? I tried to go there and it says "The site you are trying to reach has been deleted by the Wikidot Team".

Just tried the link out myself. And yeah, it's deleted :(

I guess I didn't get it up and running 'soon enough' for them -_-

This kind of burns, I may be taking the wiki hosting elsewhere now (and maybe less forumized, just plain wiki like.)

I really don't have the time right now to get it all set up WAY too much going on right now, but when I do, I'll be sure to let everyone know ;)

Thanks for letting me know they killed, it, now I have to go bury it in the backyard now :(
