I'm pretty sure it was explained in the Ms Marvel series that Kamala's powers originated from her ancestry, allowing her access to the Noor, the Bangle simply triggered this unlocking/activation of her mutant gene which was mentioned by her friend Bruno. I think the Bangle may also act as an energy source for Kamala. In short she has powers without the Bangle.

Yeah, it's been a minute since I saw the series (which I generally enjoyed quite a lot), so I don't remember that. If it's truly inherent power and the bangle just amplifies it, ok, fine. I don't get why she'd go back to just the one other than that being an iconic look for her. Or perhaps the implication that if she has two, she's a hair's breadth from becoming Quasar.
