Danny pointed me to the pre vizsla on Amazon. I picked up 2. One for the boy and one for me. I plan on removing the blade and packing the gaps . Also new paint job.
I know this is a start up thread but has anyone decided to modify the pre vizsla one. I am actually thinking this is much closer to the clone wars version. Not at all, Rebels. Emitter is way off.

I'm working on one right now.
In looking at reference pix the area in front to the hand guard is narrower then the grip so I cut off the front then took about an 1/8" out of the middle.
DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE OF REMOVING THE LITTLE RAISED EDGE ON THE FRONT OF THE EMITTER.
All the images you see on line obscure it or it's edited off.
I watched the episode with Obi Wan and Pre Vizsla fighting and saw it was there (after I chopped it off)
There is also a really brief glimpse of the emitter end.
Now the toy had a cheap switch on it and I couldn't see any activation switch on the CW or Rebels versions so I found a broken switch I plan to use on mine.

I’m not 100% sure, but I read somewhere where they think the grip is CGI’ed because of the red melting metal behind it..
So that may not be accurate and may look totally different
I know seth, here we go again with damn CGI enhanced sabers.. get your fingers ready for typing up a new page in your book! This is going to be amazing!
Still can not believe they brought this lightsaber into the real world..
My buddy was watching the finale about 15 min ahead of me, he texted me “dude, you’re going to freak out” when he cut through the tie fighter I was like “no!! That blade!! You’re kidding me!!!”
Lol more shock and screaming like a little girl, then I did for seeing maul in solo lol

Tracking masks are pretty easy these days, they wouldn't need to CG the handle. I'm sure we'll get a good look at it before too long.

I know this saber is near and dear to you. I remember you working on the 3d print a few years back and you showed a lot of enthusiasm with it. My son loves it too. He freaked when I gave it to him. Already went through a set of batteries. Lol
I don't want to derail, but in y'all's opinion, how accurate is this model I'm considering buying a print of?
The squared version is unique to Rebels I think-- and a lot of the 3D models out there seem to emulate it. I love the line work in the hilt, but I never dug the rectangular hilt. I like the squared emitter, but prefer the rounded hilt. I want to believe the Mando version round hilt has that line detail etched it. If so, it's the perfect hybrid for me. I just don't super love the Minecraft look of the Rebels version.
Fingers crossed we get them with in the next few weeks
