That's exactly what I did. I applied paint over the stamp with a sponge, and later stamped the paper.That looks much better! Better saturation, but have you tried to use paint On the stamp?
I am still trying to find the right size in Germany. All shops there have only a smaller versionJust found a white one. Can't buy 216 of those cases. Let's hope someone else could sell them for less.

But...what is the problem to buy outside Germany?I want to order in Germany, and tried Ebay. But in Germany nobody is offering the right size.

you talking about the tin boxes or the stamps? If they stamps are not made of a flexible material, they won't work. Enamel paints like Humbrol got better adherence.Maybe the material they are made from is the wrong consistency?
Too soft, perhaps?
