The Lady Arbitrator's new AVP suit for 2009

nice julie , really coming together and hurryyyy , almost here !!!!! :) :)

yes, I'm peddling as fast as I can  all thats left is put magnets* in the mask and the bio, and stick the dreads in the mask.... hopefully it won't take too long

I have checked the fit on the parts and so far all is well, just haven't had time to put pix of the whole suitup....

Comments welcome on these attachment concepts :)

The magnets will have something between them and the latex, so there won't be any adverse reaction, plus helps hold it on there.

I'm going to see where the bio meets the mask and place them in those locations.

I will also have a loop of wire or leather epoxied on each side of the bio and come out enough to hook onto the edge of the mask right above the first set of dreads.

many thanks Paintninja, for the encouragement and props

I'm not sure if I have time to put animatronics in time for Comic-con, but possibly for Dragoncon, yes I'm coming :)

You have done tons of work to this suit. I am most impressed. :)

many thanks Mr Fett, many thanks for your support :)

More updates coming tonight on the bio items, maybe the dreads (crosses fingers, toes, and eyes)

Wow! Awaiting the final result with much anticipation! Great work, Julie! :)

Many thanks, VaderDave :)

I got the magnets figured out, all thats needed is assembly (gluing)

First I figured where would an insert go into the bio that would hold the magnets:

The insert, its leather for stability:

Then I made a smaller insert that followed some of the curve of the first one, and taped some material on the back; the magnets will get glued to this material and be held in place by the leather. When its ready to be glued into the mask, the leather will be removed. The material is between the latex of the mask and the magnets, so no reaction occurs.

size comparison:

The bio sticks out in back and also theres a gap between the bio and the mask:

so I put some foam in there, it will go behind the leather insert so the magnets are close to the ones in the mask:

I will be using that 5 minute epoxy since most of the surfaces are stiff... part of the bio liner is glued with it and it seems to be working well.

Here's a picture of the bio with everything set in it and the liner covering it:

Update:

Magnets are all done, thank goodness for two-part gel glue

Now it stays on there!

I got the dreads installed, and put some dread rings to see how they look.

With bio on:
IMG_1190.jpg

I didn't cut them various lengths, left them all the same and just cut ends at 45 degree angle and stuck them in there... most of the holes and +'s were small enough to hold them.. some of the previous ones had been glued in and the material stuck to the hole and it was tedious to get off:

With bio off:

Next step, suit-up and find out what needs tweaking, such as mask and bio fit, now that there are dreads installed...

NIce work there Lady. See ya in a few days.

Thanks a million, Scott , your w.i.p. thread helped immensely

oh boy, less than a week away till we hunt the Con

wow alot of love and effort went into this one Congrats!

Many thanks, Greyback there's still the tweaking to do :0

After dinner I suited up for the first time with all of it on... I was able to get it all on by myself except for the mask.

The things I had listed to do or suspected would be needed are in fact what I have to tweak....

Mask foam- for some reason the mask wants to tilt to the right.
Glue dreads; some came out,
Secure the backpack to the strap- it kept wanting to slide off my shoulder
Latches for the gaunts- the wristblade gaunt fell off but fortunately it didn't break (whew).

Here's a couple pics, apologies for the dark background, when the battery gets low it does that....
