thanks
From what I would guess is that using sandpaper would give you a texture of the brushed look but I don't know if it would tear up the fiberglass, possibly use a finer grit to start with and see what happens.Hey guys! Very awesome shields on here! I am thinking of buying a shield from ArtFunk (as i already have the classic king arts, so i want a fiberglass shield aswell) to paint myself. I am either going to paint a stealth shield or a classic battle damage. But do you guys think it would work to brush the shield with sandpaper to get the "spun aluminium look"?
Thanks if anyone wants to help!
Etsy usually has some, I'm sure there's someone here that could help.
I'm actually looking for a fiberglass shield. Anyone know who to talk to about that?

Hi Everyone! So I've probably read this thread over and over to the point to where I was planning on getting a blank shield, not sure where but I was determined. =) Of course, I need permission from the wife and she said I can get one but rather buy one already painted because I have zero experience with painting and I don't quite trust myself messing up also. I browsed and did a search in the thread on where I should start looking for a finished one I guess but found out nothing. Anyone can steer me in the right direction?
Thanks BDBear! I appreciate the help. I will have a look there. I'm still open to suggestions also.![]()
Heres a video of my attempt, I was told to use Duplicator but unfortunetly it was near impossible get that here in the UK so I went into work and came up with my own colours and I think they came out pretty well
I though a gloss finish would look quite nice but instead went for a more accurate satin finish all round

What paints did you use for this specifically? Im currwntly stripping my shield to repaint and this looks great in my opinion
