Unfortunately you won't be able to brighten the silver ring to match the star using gloss.Thanks vinxero, I went with the gloss just to try and match the star but it is still much too shiny for the ring.
Ps love the plastidip idea just to do battle damage but be able to go back to clean.

Your two options are:
1. Darken the star some how (battle damage or maybe a light spray tint? )
2. Strip the shield and brighten the disk more with Scotch bright pads then re paint.
