I have to ask, but is there an easy way to spray the indentation areas? Like flat, the surface looks like --v--v--v---v--v--v-- (each 'v' being the division in between each circle) but when I'm working painter's tape, I try cutting along the furthest edge of the canyon so I can push the extra tape down over the inner... man describing this is hard..
*edit, tried to use '-', '_', and '\ /' for shaping out the shield lay out so I wrote it out instead
(outer red circle 2) *break inbetween half red and half bare* (outer bare circle) *break inbetween half bare and red* (outer red circle 1) *break inbetween half red and blue* (blue central circle) *break inbetween half blue and red* (outer red circle 1) *break inbetween half red and bare* (outer bare circle) *break inbetween half bare and red* (outer red circle 2)
The biggest hurdle I'm running into now is cleaning up the inner rings to look solid and consistent. Inbetween persay all the sections that touch a red circle, I have more bare metal between the two, even the blue central circle area to the outer red circle area, its still coming out spotty. Like, should I just get another can of red car paint and spray it into the cap so I can use a small detail brush to run along the lighter red side? I was already thinking of doing that for two spots/edges of the red rings that came off while I was scrapping off painters tape. Otherwise is there a better method for filling in those pesky areas? I've run through so much painters tape layering everything and trying to hit the desired inner ring area but its not quite getting it spot on as I'd like.
And Mtrixman, damn fine work. Love the clean paint and excellent harness system! Looks conforming, comfortable, and sturdy!
