OK gents,
I painstakingly watched every scene with Vader in ESB last night. I have one of those boot DVDs taken from the laser disc. I watched every scene in real time, then frame by frame. My observations:
I was incorrect about how far down the armor goes in the back. More than the GT, but not as far down as the front. I thought it was even. Dead wrong.
The best view is right after the 'you are beaten' lull in the fight. Luke gets back up and they start fighting again. Vader's cape comes off of his right shoulder for a little bit and you get a nice side and slightly from the back view. The shoulder bell is just slightly tucked under the armor. The back bottom of the bell is lined up with the back of the armor, the front extends down his chest past the front bottom of the bell.
An interesting point is that during the fight scenes where the armor is visable it does not look trimmed down at all. If that is Bob Anderson it looks like he is wearing Prowse's armor.
Here are measurements I would like to see from a screen used set and the GT:
Assuming the GT armor is cast from (that was cast from) screen armor then all but the outer (A, I, L, M) ones should match up. If this is the case then using the outer dimensions an extended set of GT could be pretty dead on.
Here is another view of GT style and the Oakley style. The GT does look like the same contours. I don't think the Oakley style does.
Whadya think?
Is there any chance of getting these measurements?
