Yea I think they tie the mp3 release with each individual form (cd, cassette, vinyl) when it ships or is released.

Hopefully they just release it now. I'll check back on this later today after I order.

Finally got my helmet from eBay! Got it for$31 total including shipping. Not so hot paint job, needs a good reshape with a heat gun, and I'll insert my own lenses with lights. Here it is!

Has anyone looked at these Xcoser MDR-5a clones? They look pretty good to me. With Soulinertia's decals, I think it'd look decent.

Me too. I want a set of MDRs but can't afford even a pair of 7s. These look great for me.

On the real thing the headphone on the side with that funny shaped piece should ride on a metal strip. And the wires should go through the cylinder.

I know. For 30 bucks, they're pretty good. Just fill in the "STAR LORD" embossing and paint the speakers and apply decals to the greeblie, headband, and speakers

I would want to emulate the metal strip. Maybe use some parts from the shapeways kit if that's even possible.

Yeah I get where you're coming from.
At least these are better than that soundlab garbage. I have a pair and the end of the wire is coming undone, and the headband is bent.

It's on my "sometime later" list, but it's definitely going to happen. Right now I use cheap-o $5 headphone that I put orange pads on. People get it, but I want them to look right.

I cannibalized the Xcoser headphones and used the greeblie and the pads on a pair of vintage Radio Shack Nova 45s. I cut my own mesh and applied the lettering. They're close enough for my purposes and the sound quality is great.
