The Definitive Peter Quill/Star-Lord Costume Thread

Finally got my helmet from eBay! Got it for$31 total including shipping. Not so hot paint job, needs a good reshape with a heat gun, and I'll insert my own lenses with lights. Here it is!

^ those do look good, wish I would have seen those before spending too much on a "close enough" pair of MDR-3 headphones :facepalm
 
I would want to emulate the metal strip. Maybe use some parts from the shapeways kit if that's even possible.
Yeah I get where you're coming from.
At least these are better than that soundlab garbage. I have a pair and the end of the wire is coming undone, and the headband is bent.
 
Yeah. Personally I am trying to save up to do the shapeways kit. I really like the whole look of the headphones. I remember seeing ones like that all the time when I was a kid.
 
I cannibalized the Xcoser headphones and used the greeblie and the pads on a pair of vintage Radio Shack Nova 45s. I cut my own mesh and applied the lettering. They're close enough for my purposes and the sound quality is great.

Does anyone know where to get those orange foam covers or something similar? I bought these ones off of ebay a while ago but they are pretty dull in person:
