The Definitive CW Arrow Thread

What about the Forearm guards ?, they have a really weird shape ( at least to me ) and in every cosplay they look really bad, and it looks like a big secret because there are not clear shots of those, oliver just wear them " in the field " and never when is in the arrow cave

Would imagine they are cast urethane with a leather texture to match his suit

Read carefully. "Cast urethane with a leather texture" does not equal "leather". ;)

I know :p ... i never agreed that they were made of urethane

It was a guess based on things like batmans gauntlets ect.
If they are leather must surely have a stiff core they seem very sturdy

Yeah probably :O i made a pair of gauntlets but i really had a hard time figuring out the shape, i think foam did the job to get those done.

Thanks !

Ever try a different thickness of leather? I would try something like 7oz leather for more stiffness.

Hi everyone. I made a discovery about the season 1 flechette holder that Id like to get some input on. I've read through this thread countless times but might have forgotten if someone ID'd the bottom row of clips. I bought a compound bow case that came with a similar section for holding arrows inside. I'm not going to say the piece is 100% accurate but it is VERY close to the one in the image. I have a theory about how they customized the piece but Ill add that part later if you guys think its a good match 20160703_000212.jpg

I think you might be on to something man. This item was talked about near the beginning of this thread although it vanished from memory. I think you have something here. please continue posting

This is the last thing I'm going to say about this: the voice technology that Arrow uses does not exist, and if it does, it's not publicly accessible. That little megaphone you're showing me, isn't going to work how you want it to. Do yourself a favor and research post-production sound and dialogue. Most of the sounds you hear on a TV show are all added in post. Occasionally even dialogue has to be rerecorded because it isn't picked up well enough.

Have a good day.

When I'm at conventions in my suit I achieve a similar effect using a small voice amplifier (designed for tour guides to amplify their voices) and a lav mic, then I just do my best gravelly voice impression and the tinny speaker and cheap microphone produces a fairly decent effect.

The case I got the piece from is the Plano 1110 bow case. They have them at bass pro as well as amazon for about $50. Keep in mind it hasn't been confirmed, just speculation at this point

The correct ones are brass m8 acorn knuts. However they are next to impossible to find. You could ask if anyone has as set spare from the run or you can settle for almost accurate dome m8 brass nuts which is what I did with ny bow before I eventually sold it

Couldn't you just hire somebody to make the nuts?

Just joined this forum specifically for this thread. A bunch of us at my work place, I'm in Las Vegas, are going to the Fetish and Fantasy ball this Halloween and we all chose Superhero/Comic book couple. Obviously, I chose Green Arrow as I've been slowly putting this costume together for a few years now. Awesome to see this thread is still going! Anyone got any info on the boot tops yet? Even being this long after the Nike Free Run +2's being discontinued I was able to find a pair (half size too small, but oh well) on Ebay. But I'm holding off on buying something else to see if anyone has had any luck yet? If not I'm thinking of doing these Gaiters on top of the Nike's.

Anyone have any luck on those?

Thanks for all help in advance!

Also, has anyone found anything that works and is easily concealable for a voice changer?

for the voice changer, I will be making replicas of the handheld prop used in the show in september. For the voice effect some people use a bad microphone hooked up to a bad miniature speaker to get a modulated sound. :) hope I helped!

Do you have references to make an accurate prop?
