The Definitive CW Arrow Thread

The biggest amount of work is attaching the sole...and yet top stitched to the shoe. If I had a nimble sewing machine if be able to to that part myself.

View attachment 285412I had to modify my hood pattern to get more of a point, but I am pretty happy with the outcome.

Hello again. If its not too much trouble could you please take a picture of the hood flattened in half with a tape measure next to it. Cause then i could get the size and shape of it exact by using photoshop. It would be much appreciated if you could help me out thanks!

That they took the combat boot and replicated to look with their own leather

Agreed with this. Having owned a slew of vintage and modern combat and work boots, there's no way they cut the upper off a boot like the SDCC boot and attached it to a nike free sole. The leather just wouldn't be flexible enough.

I wonder what someone like Motorcowboy could do with this one. The boot looks fairly standard so I'd guess they could do the tougher looking idealized version from SDCC or attach a softer upper to a Nike sole without much trouble for the screen/stunt version. I've never used them though and don't know about their quality.

I'm almost sure there's no real base boot, just a custom. The boot would have fifteen or sixteen eyelets which mean it's probably a twelve inch boot. Just not something you'd see in a work or combat boot except for maybe a lineman boot but they usually have a more aggressive sole and higher heel.

A good existing boot to use if you wanted to keep the work type sole might be a vintage steel toe military issue combat boots. It has the plain toe and horizontal stitch line on the side of the boot. The back doesn't match it doesn't have the flex cutout halfway up the laces but it does have the overall look. Unfortunately it's an eight inch boot as opposed to the ten inch jump boot posted above but that would get you up to the black leather wrap so it would probably work.

I just used a cool journal I found at Walmart, I also found most if not all of the names. I made the chest and am pretty pleased with it. The lock is a whole other story! It will probably be almost impossible to find the exact one. I found one close on eBay. Look up vintage barrel combination lock. Hope this helps!

Awesome! I made a test version. Really pleased with it! Now to make the real one! All i had to do was cut 2" from the front of the hood to make it smaller. Thanks for your help!

My quiver came in and I finished fletching the arrows. I need to make one more arrow, but the local hardware store ran out of the size I was using. I can do some progress pics of how I make the arrows if anyone is interested.
