The Definitive CW Arrow Thread

A simple red one, from the looks of it... Although Sin's nickname for him, "Abercrombie", may imply that's the brand, but that's unlikely. Everyone's guess for why she calls him that is because he looks like an Abercrombie and Fitch model.

having worked there in the past, I'd agree that, that's not the reason she calls him abercrombie, i'd say its more along the line of the model aspect. However would you guys say the hoodie is "Red" or more of a crimson or maroon color? It def looks to be a darker color than traditional red.

Well, I bought the Dr Marten Caden boot just to see how it is. Short answer: Avoid.

The toe is extremly round and clunky looking. Not at all flattering if you were to wear outside of anything but say a metal show. I won't say they are bad, but, looking back they scream The 90s' very much.

Best bet would be a more lightweight paratrooper or clean combat boot.

Can't speak for anyone but take it in a case and be honest about it. Technically it's sporting equipment and not a weapon so you should be ok.

But check in your local laws for sure.

Best if you put it in as a check-in luggage rather than a carry-on. Even people wearing belts with fake bullets are not allowed thru the checkpoint.

Could anyone who has already made a quiver show me how they've attached the strapping? I've gotten the quiver made, but am not quite sure what the best way is to attach the strapping.

I don't know about you guys, but I feel like this thread has been in need of a serious pick-me-up!! So how about it?!?!

TRICK ARROWS

I think it goes without saying that these are not based on any found item. Though, I just said it, so...

In this post I am going to focus on the "collar" (coined by Tvayumat) used for the 4 main trick arrows. So how about an overall look?

These are in no particular order, other than to match the above picture.

1. Flashbang

The first flashbang we see is in Season 1 Episode 19 (to be written in the following format from now on: 119) when Oliver is trippin' on Vertigo, strapped to a gurney. It blinks red, then explodes.

Notice the white details? Tag it, bag it, right? Well, in 121, when Oliver rescues Felicity from the underground Casino, the flashbang has green details. :confused Again, it blinks red, then explodes.

The last flashbang is Season 1 (I am only partially documenting Season 2 in this post) is 123. Merlyn snatches the arrow, with white details again, while blinking red.

This time, it blinks green just before exploding in his face! PHRASING!!! (Archer, anyone??)

2. Surveillance

The first surveillance arrow, which is more of a "bug" anyway, not to mention possibly a "pilot special" is in 101. This actually appears to have no color distinction, blinks green, and could possibly be considered a fifth type of trick arrow.

The next surveillance arrow is the recording given to Det. Lance in 102. This has the green markings and blinks green.

The next is featured in 113. This one is consistent! It has green details and blinks red.

The last is in 121 when Oliver learns his mother is involved with the undertaking by spying on her and Merlyn. Green details. Red blinkie.

3. Explosive

The first explosive arrow is seen in 109, when Oliver finds the trap laid out by the dark archer. This one has yellow details, but for some reason, does not have blinking LEDs like the others. This one has CG effects to light up some of the details themselves.

The next explosive arrow (that I paid attention to while considering writing this) is in 222.

This one is a bit of a freak, it starts as blinking red.

Then it switches to green, always on.

Finally, the moment before exploding, it turns red.

5. Taser

A taser arrow other than the one shown by the prop master on his facebook page? Yep.

202 gives us the first glimpse of this type of taser arrow. Sorry, Bronze Tiger. This one has blue details and is the first trick arrow to not have the Zwickey broadhead. It's got a little trident action going on.

Well that does it for now. Coming up next:

- Taser Arrows shown on the prop master's facebook page, fired from the...
- Counter-Measures pods (or dampers that some of you have been calling them) located on the power limbs of the Kestrel
- Injection Arrows (these appear to basically use the same collar as shown above, only possibly slightly modified)

Stay tuned!

Huge thanks to Prim for most of the above screenshots. :thumbsup

In 4-5 days I will have the prototype costume in hand and will show it off here right away, no worries!

Awesome work Pinder! Loving these, and I think I want some of these to make a "complete" trick arrow collection, rather than just a bunch of plain arrows in a quiver :) This will make it pretty easy to make a sort of checklist of types!
