The CIA agent on the plane has to be the worst actor of all time!! My GF was laughing at him when we saw it.

If you are frustrated now, just wait! lol

Its an ok movie, but there are MANY points where you honestly wonder how the hell an intelligent man such as Christopher Nolan can think that was a good idea???!!!!!

Just wait until you encounter:

1) How does batman get back to gotham so quickly

2) Every police officer decided to go into the sewer!!?????

3) Wayne goes from unable to walk, spine hanging out to fighting fit a a few days

3) Selina Kyle is poor despiute being an excellent cat burglar.

4) Wayne has a nuclear device that he knows is mega dangerous sop decides to just keep it instead of destroying it. Then trusts it to a stranger.

5) Lastly for now, how on earth did Nolan think that the whole Robin ending wasnt awful. From the most forced 'you should use your real name' to the use oif Robin instead of Dick Grayson....cringe worthy doesnt cover it...

Enjoy the dvd mate... :) lol

I finished it......can't lie it has some good moments, but they are FAR and few between

I didn't really think of it,I was too busy catching the gut wrenching good moments between going :ah,what the ****?! :lol

But in the end I can say this:

Nolan wanted to make an "ultra, uber REAL BATMAN" and yet this end was....a real life cartoon, bad plot and acting and all, replete with over done drama that makes you sit back after viewing and going "you know what? that sucked and was NOT worth it"

Oh and I feel sorry for Mr.Cane...his torment at the end was...gawd pathetic :confused

You could see he was forcing it and I have to wonder at his silence over the role, probably drop dead embarrassed over it!

I need to go back and watch one and two over again, think that with two the wheels were starting to come off,the joker was good but the rest of it was

BTW DC comics movies? they are done, right up the pooper,I think I may just boycott their crap after this fiasco.

*ETA*

Guess I should list what I liked about the movie.

One:Catwoman, she was...disturbingly sexy and I kinda wish/hope she comes back for a proper Batman movie (not gonna happen I know, but I can dream no?)

Bale got Batman 100% right again, like in the first film;true he talked funny (like Bane actually it was distracting) but when he fought he got into it and I felt like "he damn,THAT'S the Batman I know!"

But the duals between him and Bane were bad,bad acting and badly done Batman desperate? that was....ah goofy.

And very out of character.

Probably a good idea not to post religious links.

I mean only to point out the comparison, to the great storytelling of JRR Tolkien, and the redemptive theme, that was very previlent in the films. It was very refreshing to see a film series about a larger than life comic book character, that more than just big special FX and flashy costumes. The films were a peice of art, that were made to make us reflect on ourself and our society.

I bought the Blu-ray last night and watched it, this was my second viewing of the movie. I really was kind of mad when I came out of the theater on my first viewing--just not enough Batman in it. This time I watched it knowing that. While I still do not think it was a great Batman movie, it is a pretty good movie. Still, to me, you could have changed just a few lines in the script and it could have well just been a Die Hard movie or a Bond flick. I mean, just delete a few lines and Batman could have been erased from the entire movie.

Still, I will repeat--it's a good movie, it's just not a good Batman movie IMHO.

Get over it. We're on a board discussing movies, and religious allegorical comparisons are perfectly valid when discussing a movie. What, we can't talk about the Narnia films here then? :rolleyes

After reading the article, that's a pretty interesting analysis. That said, you can interpret much into just about anything, but he's got a lot of good points in the comparison.

Just following the rules, I've been warned for less. So take it easy pal, I'm just looking out for a fellow member

My post was not meant to avert the discussion away from the film, or to brake any rules. Thanks for the warning. I simply meant to point out the vehicle that drives the story of this film. It is called The Dark Knight Rises after all. The theme of love, and betrayal, self sacrifice, and redemption, are hard to miss in this film.

I found this movie, while very dark at times. To be very inspiring. Nolan is a masterful storyteller in my humble opinion.

I completely agree. The other night a friend and I decided to have a few beers and watch the trilogy. Watching all of the films back to back makes me appreciate how well this story was told.

I loved everything about Bane. I love the voice and the quirks about him. I just wish he was more brutal and a bit bigger. But hey... Still love it.

I'm in complete agreement. Nolan really had so much to work with. Too bad he decided to wrap things up too quickly with this character, and too bad we will never get to see some of the more interesting characters from the Batman universe given a treatment from Nolan.

We may not. Nolan IS producing Man of Steel so his hands may still be in with the next Batman. Can't have a Justice League without Batman.

I was very leery about Bane when I first saw the mask but man did it ever work for the film!

Same here. I enjoyed that trilogy and only was upset because I knew there would not be more of this version. Doesn't mean we still can't have a foot in that world.

Saw the movie last night...It was good, with some weak spots and odd characters.
Matthew Modine's character was really odd, He was a jerk 90% of the movie and when he finally got some balls he was killed off screen with a 2 sec still scene of his body.

Gordon's story was good with his guilt trip.

I feel that we needed to be shown that something would have happen to the Jonathan Crane / Scarecrow Character, He was the #2 villian in the first movie and first villian batman caughts in the sequel . In this one he just sits on a throne and judges people...thats it....

Bane.....Did not know much about him before, other than what we saw in Batman & Robin. Tom Hardy performance was great, tho i kept picturing Sean Connery doing Bane's voice.

His death scene....What a let down.. POW!! right in the kisser and that's it. I know it goes with the "real" world that nolan created for batman but they could at least shown him move a little bit before he dies. Not like they did: POW and slide across the floor...end.

Michael Caine's Alfred character was not as good written as the other two movies :(

At the end when batman is dragging the nuclear bomb with the bat, i could not help to do a little MST3K riffing " Do You Need To Hit Every Single Object With The Unstable Nuclear Bomb!"

Good movie :)

heres something that has peeved me since watching the movie. no batmobile in this one......why? if bruce took 8 years off, surely hes got enough time to goto wayne enterprises prototype devision and steal another one of the tumblers that are stored there.

not only that, how is it never explained how no one mentions the prototype tumbler is being used by batman yet surely the tumbler comes from wayne enterprises. wouldnt it be easy to figure out who batman is at that point. obviously its someone in the company.

Um, they did that bit in The Dark Knight.
