The Book of Boba Fett

Yeah that’s what I was referring to earlier. The whole benevolent crimelord thing doesn’t make much sense at all. Why even go that route? Go the “lone ranger” route if he just wanted to go goody two shoes and rid the oppressed people of the drugrunners. Lol

I don't have a comment. I just wanted to highlight this to show I'm in agreement.

I'm still completely confused what exactly is "Crime Lord" about his empire... He seems Anti-Crime Lord if anything..
I can't get one person to tell me what his product is or how his Crime Empire actually runs. I already had one person try to simply defend it as “well casinos in our world were owned by crime lords, so thats why”
Ughh

Yayyy Boba Fett! Hero of the people! Murderer of countless innocents in the course of his redemption but its ok because hes a Disney Princess now
Seriously, these guys might have been jerks, but i don't think makes this any less messed up than it is now lolll.
INSTANTLY thought of this when the pikes said it was a setup.. instantly.. did the writers forget this?!

Was it even necessary to even make that statement ? It didn’t advance anything? Nothing really changed? I mean bane said it to fett and fett just clenched his fists..

I don’t get it

Though the old (and new?) canon never spelled it out, I personally still think it can be possibly inferred from the movies that Fett was a regular member of Jabba’s menagerie and lived in the palace. In the OT we always see him either with Jabba himself or acting on his interests. Why else would he still be in the palace by the time RoTJ rolls around, and long after Han had been delivered? That Tatooine is his home is the only reason I could see why he otherwise would randomly become so invested in the wellbeing of it or its people. I’m still baffled why Mos Espa itself was chosen as the center of so much of this.
The bottom line is, I think a great many (most?) Fett fans wanted a gritty, darker show that highlighted why Fett is so beloved and they simply didn’t deliver it. This would’ve been a prime chance to prove the “Boba Fett is overrated” crowd wrong and they dropped the ball mightily. The show felt sloppy, confused and never really explained Fett’s motivation to become a crimelord. Sure he no longer wants to “work for idiots” but if he was gonna go a benevolent route, why not be a “lone ranger” type? Why bother with the crimelord path at all? If he only cares about the wellfare of the people, being a crimelord at all seems weird.

Also, I still think the ending could imply he is in fact moving on, which does seem silly given all the trouble he went through to get in that respected position.
Following on your line of thought, does TPM intimate that, beyond the palace, Mos Espa is the base of Jabba’s operations on Tat? That Jabba sponsored the Boonta Eve Classic, which seemed like a huge event and was held outside of Mos Espa?

Maybe, as you said, if Boba was hanging with Jabba, he was also hanging out in Mos Espa a lot. Maybe he developed an affinity for the town and its people.

As for the crime lord thing (which, despite what Cad Bane said, isn’t really “going straight”), maybe Boba has seen enough ineffectual elected leaders and thinks he can have more impact working outside the system.

But yeah. If he’s not going to deal in spice, and I presume he won’t be dealing in slavery, I wonder what his longer-term plans were….

Someone should recut it without the ‘victorious revenge’ music, and instead redo it with entirely different music better fitting the 1st degree murder of innocents that it actually now is (y)

Any thoughts on what music might suit best?
Maybe this? Ya know, just to keep it SW LOL

I was looking forward to this too until we got what was delivered with fett, now I’m just burned out
Nah, keep it coming. I'm liking the series shows more than I thought I would. And being written and directed with some of the same staff as the animated series, gives us real life version cameos
