The Book of Boba Fett

Well guys. I really don’t understand that last episode… cause let’s not forget that we were supposed to « see TBOBF in a different light after finale » (quoting Ms Wen for this).

When Bane said « blabla cold blooded killer blabla » in Ep.6 I was like « YES, it’s gonna happen ! sloppy disrepected Boba will go dark and full desintegration mode ! »…

But no, nothing happened. He just finds the EE3 trigger he was looking for (sadly he dropped it quit a few times for one episode, certainly he is not used to shoot with it anymore).

And lets face it. Mr RR, once again, gave us a fanfilm with a barely capable Boba.

Say what you want but the cool Rancor and the badly choreographed pew pew did not changed anything imho.

I won’t dive too deep into in this episode (nor the show), but there is one thing… yes one thing I can’t get over :

Can someone explain me… the plot ?
I mean.

I am OK with Boba escaping the Sarlacc.
I am OK with Boba being resc..enslaved then adopted by the Tuskens…
I am OK with Boba looking for the Slave I and his armor.
I am almost OK with Boba being tired of being abused so he wants to retired…

…but what the hell is going on with the crime lord stuff and Tatooine ?!

I think this makes 0 sense.

Did anybody saw a crime lord here ?
Is a crime lord supposed to be a random guy beeing martyred by anyone ? Seriously ?

And WHY, please why, does Boba wants to help Tatooine ? What’s up with Mos Espa (except it was one of the territories ruled by Jabba)? I cannot understand why Boba fell in love with the planet and it’s people (except for the tuskens).

I mean, he was on a job, he was injured and then rescued… and all of this in a random planet for him.

And now « This is my city. These are my people. »… Mmmh sorry wait what ? When ? Why ?

I am just like Bane « one thing I can’t figure. What’s your angle? »

That part of the story is ridiculous. When we pause this for a minute and think about all the potential… damned, what a miss.

Of course there are cool stuff in this show, but the final product is really meh (and I strongly believe that Mr RR episodes are the weakest, which is hard for a first and a last episode of a show). Rough draft…

I think Boba just wants to reinvent himself. He's tired of being the hired gun. He wants to be the guy that does the hiring for change. That and he wants to kick back and hang up his spurs.................

............... Man that would have been the perfect, story. Boba Fett wants to retire. After everything he's been through, he's ready to give up bounty hunting. But everyone knows he's Boba Fett, so you've got these young up and coming gunslingers and bounty hunters trying to make a name for themselves, trying to take him down. And Boba just wants to live a peaceful life. It's little bit Shane, meets The Shootist. Fits right in that western genre. You could even being the Pykes. Have them kinda fill that big rancher role, that wants to lord over the moisture farmers. Now that's a Boba Fett show I'd like to watch.
 
We never saw the Gomorean Guards hit the bottom, so THEY’RE NOT DEAD! In fact, in 2024 we’ll get the series, “The Miss-Adventures of Grunt and Skwalk.” Two former palace guards now working the mean streets of Mos Mosley as private investigators, bringing justice to the little guy.

I built a 30x30 dream garage for my friend. Swear to god, god honest truth he put a bed in there so he can sleep in there with his mustangs.. he and his wife have a amazing relationship but she was like “he rather camp out in the garage with the mustangs then sleep beside me” lol

I would at least be more on board with that than what we got. That is similar to the Unforgiven angle I've posited before. I didn't necessarily envision Fett being retired but going down that avenue of thought, I'm not sure what a sedentary, retired lifestyle would really look like for Fett. Maybe some pressing motivation pops up that requires him to leave his quiet life. Maybe something happens requiring money he doesn't have so he must reluctantly carry out one last bounty hunt. Maybe someone simply offers him a bounty with a payout so big he can't refuse. Perhaps Fett is dying and wants to go out on his terms by attempting to settle some scores that could get him killed...or something like that. Maybe there is some unexpected twist to a bounty and Fett won't carry it out, irking his employer. That may be too much like Mando's story though. I also think there would be a place for an analog of "the kid", perhaps a young wannabe that idolizes Fett whom Fett only begrudgingly acknowledges, at least at first. Would be such a nicely meta way to explore the reality of Fett's myth and legend within his own canon, which perhaps he wants to downplay or not address at all. "The kid" would in turn essentially be an analog for real world Fett fans. If Fett dies, the kid inherits the armor. Maybe "the kid" is named Jodo Kast, if they wanted to reimagine and repurpose that character.

It would be really interesting to turn Boba into a sort of Dread Pirate Roberts á la The Princess Bride.

Agreed. Other than the Vespa teens/Mod stuff, there hasn't been anything I just hated. For me it all wavers between "just okay to good"... with the non-Fett episodes being pretty great in my book. I just didn't anticipate how uninteresting they'd make Fett himself be.

Speaking of Rancors, what's the deal?
ROTJ it was slow and only seemed to have advantage due to the small spaces keeping fleeing difficult.
Now it's jumping around like a chimpanzee. Did Jabba keep them drugged? Did it grow up captive and became sluggish?
