there is noting i hate more then bringing a character... or characters in to throw them away the next episodes... why even waste the money on the twins... oh wait we needed the huts to deliver the rancor... no wait why couldn't bid just have the rancor already?! ...
Your talking about Garsa aren't you..

But yes I totally agree whats the point of writing designing scripting..
I know you need red herrings Mguffins etc but seriously.. even the deputy was like literally a Fallguy!
Extras are one thing but a recurring character is usually at least there to drive a story along in some way or fashion..

They set up why. Remember the conversation after they tried using the Darksaber. Something to the effect that energy weapons could not impact the shields and that the melee weapons did not have enough force. So they basically needed something that was not an energy weapon but just brute force… enter the rancor.
Dave: How can we increase the run time
Jon: let's say the High Energy weapons have no impact but slow movement or...hey We got Buddy Rancor !... 10 minutes sorted and we can do a nod to King Kong Too, I love that Movie..
Dave: Me Too!

I wish Boba Fett would’ve stayed underdeveloped. This show was nearly unwatchable. It just shows that you can have a bunch of talented folks working on something and it just doesn’t work.
It should have been called Tatooine
All that happened would have hit better without the need for Any one titular character taking centre stage..
It needed a more even flow which this might have given it and less discord with viewers relying on one character to carry the show...

We might have got more Jawa stuff
Etc..

If you listen to the audio description track, which I believe is based off the shooting script, they very deliberately mention a flashing LED on Bane’s chest. So I think they have plans for him, but yeah, how are they going to talk around a gaffi stick straight to the chest?

I hope it won’t be something lame, like, “Duros physiology does not have any major organs located in the center of the chest, so Boba’s wound was not fatal, and the little LED thingy was something to make Bane appear dead.” And then we see Bane’s presumptively dead body in the Mos Espa morgue, only for the LED thingy to suddenly do its thing and Bane pops back to life and surreptitiously sneaks out of the morgue.

While I love Cad Bane and would love to see him as Boba’s “dark-mirror” arch-nemesis, and while I have to admit faking his death like that would be a pretty Bane-level crafty move, it’ll be a reach to come up with an explanation that won’t make me roll my eyes.

Yeah, I’m sure it’ll be along those lines.

We may not see him “come back to life” on-screen. He may just suddenly appear out of nowhere, healthy and whole, to everyone’s shock and disbelief, and then toss out some throwaway line about “being prepared for every contingency” (or whatever).

IMO the finale was OK, not outstanding, but not too bad either. The best thing about the series were the flashbacks (the train robbery, Tusken culture and everything involving Slave I in particular; I like desert scenes, maybe because of the vastness) and everything Mando. But the question arises as to what the makers were thinking when they demoted the eponymous hero to an extra. The worst scene was the one in which Fennec made tabula rasa. It had been better to have left that to Boba, because that leaves a pretty bland aftertaste. I certainly wouldn't blame Temuera. His performance was solid and he is a very likable guy. Maybe the author is responsible for that, but that's incomprehensible because episode 5 & 6 are so superior compared to the others. I think everything was planned out for Mando season 3 but production got off track due to Covid and contract negotiations. Then they had a deadline to flesh out 7 episodes but no material and no ideas to do so. The Mando episodes were probably the only ones that could be planned with care and foresight. The rest was a combo of cool ideas they squeezed in to stretch the runtime. And as a result, the character "Boba" became "TLJ Luke 2.0". What a pity about Cad Bane, I would have liked to see more of him (his "real-world" look has grown on me pretty fast). Ah well, it is what it is. I take what I like and use it to write my own book. :)
