The Book of Boba Fett

Probably not, but they seem to be doing everything possible to steer clear of it.
I remember back in the day people talking about resetting or redoing the PT. Just isn’t gonna happen and same for the ST. I seem to recall people saying TCW “fixes” the PT in many ways (although I can’t personally vouch for that) and so I do wonder if Favreau/Filoni are trying to do the same to the ST with these post-ROTJ shows, at least as much as possible. I don’t see how they can totally fix the ST but maybe they can provide context or enough retcons to at least improve it in some regards.

Cuz Rey, Fin, Hux, Poe… at 6 (?) years old haven’t walked in?

You CAN probably hold your breath for ST stuff to start appearing, may even have? I don’t follow that close. I’m not a fan of how the ST face planted the ending, but it’s still 20 years away…. This is 5 after Jedi… why would there be any of the ST involved at this point?

With all respect to the dearly departed Princess.

The actress, Carrie Fisher, had a rough Hollywood life in many ways. And her appearance changed drastically from the 1990s to the 2000s. While we all age and change, hers appeared much more pronounced to me. Her smoker's voice caught up with her. She battled her mental disorder. Her admitted drug use affected her physical appearance. In my medical opinion, it was most noticeable around her nose (which became more bulbous and round at the tip) and her jaw. And somewhere in there are new teeth or dentures. She looks VERY different even from TFA to TLJ. So when they used cut footage from TFA for TROS, it was as she had a digital face lift.

What a talent, what a wit. Never had the chance to meet her in person.

RIP dear Carrie.
Carrie Fisher was amazing but it did always irk me a bit when she would lament how people would comment on her appearance and how people expected her to look the same as she did when she was 20. No, her age wasn’t it at all. It was her rampant (and apparently ongoing) drug use and the impact it had on her appearance that people were commenting on. She was doing this to herself and it’s so sad she never could get out from under that spectre. By all accounts she was a good, fun person and it’s just a sad story all around.

So we going through Walmart today and my 1 year old son reached out for this....

Got to admit, bit of a proud father moment.

i see the exact opposite

- the childs blood or DNA wanted for cloning
- reject snokes in tubes in cloning facility
- dr pershing's cloner badge (who works for the empire)
- dr pershing admits to harvesting childs blood for M count

in bad batch

- Kamino cloners taken hostage and the rest destroyed
- Nala Se taken hostage and delivered on planet weyland, where she arrives on Mount Tansis (in legends known is the place they cloned a certain someone)

to me this screams them trying to make ep9 "acceptable"

one key line is Dr Pershing mentions a key subject who has recently stopped volunteering, which i believe is Pap's only successful full body clone (his non force sensitive son in ep9)

largely the TCW redeems the PT a bit by expanding upon it. It was way too big to cram into 4 hours and it was way too fast for anakin to sell his soul the way it did. Slow it down throw 6 seasons and then, yeah it works. It doesn't make the movies themselves any better, but it pads out the story to begin to make it believable.

I find it hard to believe is what they're doing with all these shows. Expounding on the story doesn't fix the ST as they're just a haphazard mess that craps on what came before it simply to do so.

What i mean Is they're not rushing to tell stories anywhere near the ST itself. It is what it is at this point, but they're not placing the shows in that time frame and they're not putting stuff after that time frame (so far) to try and redeem anything that occurred there. It's a far cry to show things on the fringes heading that way, but i don't think they're doing these with the intention of leading all the way to that and trying to make the ST itself better - which was something that was done with TCW.

It’d be a tall order for sure.

i dont blame him...

when disney took over my buddy said ILM went from a family to a corporation over night.. 401k cut... health insurance cut..

disney doesn't care about anyone but themselves
That's Awful when you think about how they were so non corporate and what they stood for.. I was wrapped up along with other work colleagues once to another company and told four days before..
I had been there a long time..
The new guys wanted to do it their way....we hit the highway and got a better job..

he is not on here, but he's always telling me never to talk about what he tells me.. so i won't go into too much detail, but that is the least of the negativity...

he said it use to be a cheerful place.. now you have to watch what you say... everyone just sits at their desks and won't interact with anyone.. i dont like disney, but i dont hate them either.. so i dont want this to be taken as me being basis.. its come straight out of his mouth

I loved the episode, but this was the only thing that bothered me in it.

You have Luke telling, lets face it, a toddler, they have to make a choice that defines their life right NOW and the little guy can't even speak. It's like asking a 2 year old to pick their career path and telling them they can never go back. Luke could have just given him the armor and said 'he wanted you to have this when you were ready' which is less of a lie than Ben told him when he gave him his father's lightsaber....

Something else that struck me was Luke saying he didn't feel he was teaching Grogu as much as he was remembering. What would he actually remember? If he's 50, his time in the temple ended 30 years ago. If he's a toddler at 50, what the hell was he at 20? an infant? So where would this memory come from?

It may have been mentioned before, but this is probably an overt nod to Lone Wolf & Cub. The dad gives his toddler a choice of either a ball or a sword to determine if he picks a normal life or one of a warrior.
