The Book of Boba Fett

Kylash what is the source for that map? The show is playing things pretty fast and loose geographically from the looks of things so far. I definitely don’t remember Mos Espa looking like a huge canyon in TPM
"From a certain point of view"

Sorry it was too good not to say. But that map does seem strange, I have seen another somewhere but not sure if its still Canon..

@squirk maybe Jabba’s seat was powerful relative to its location in the outer rim, but on the grand scheme was still just one of many seats the cartel as a whole are holding. Nal Hutta most likely being the supreme seat of power for them since it’s their home world. We see so much Jabba because of the frequency of Tatooine in our heroes’ stories, and he just happens to be the guy Han crosses.
Based on what we saw in TCW, Jabba is one of the five (?) members of the Hutt Council, with a stranglehold on hyperspace lanes that were critical to both the Republic and the CIS during the Clone Wars. Dooku wouldn’t have sullied himself with dealing (albeit duplicitously) with some low-level boss.

Maybe my “read” is mistaken, but I got the impression that he was part of the highest echelon of the Hutt power hierarchy.

I think you are probably right, or at least very close, but if Jabba was such a Big Dog, and his syndicate was so vast, I’d be surprised that any Hutt (or the Hutt Council, for that matter) would let a puppet run the show.
Unless, since Luke, Leia and the gang and the rebels defeated the empire, the Hutt's feared some sort of retribution and the return of the Skywalkers to tatooine...sort of laid low, let Bib be a figure head for a while and see what happens?

I like that. Let Bib take the fall in case the New Republic came a-knockin’.

But I still can’t help but think the Hutt Cartel wasn’t terribly threatened by this fledging, disorganized galactic government trying to pull itself together.

Honestly, the NR had a lot bigger fish to fry than giving the Hutts comeuppance for how Jabba treated Han, Leia and Luke.

There are a few out there but most resemble this one. Its on Wookipedia.

Also, if you're wondering where Boba got those great teeth...

In my other life I used to make Dentures for a living "Very similar to Veneers in most respects"

I hear you as well, but maybe if Word is out about or rumours circulating that a Jedi helped defeat the empire after such a long time after order 66 and especially with the name Skywalker attached to it after Anakins/Vaders exploits then that might instill a little fear in an already volatile situation. Thinking of a new Jedi order possible starting as a result changes the dynamics a wee bit.

Gotcha. Maybe it wasn’t “fear” as much as “let’s take a ‘wait and see’ approach while all this dust settles.”

...and for some reason, who is well known for this type of thing? Who would fill the huge power vaccuum from Vader and Palps? Who is running the Hutts?...Ahsoka asked a question in Mandalorian...."Where is Thrawn?"

I got the idea that Bib didn't try to run things like a crime boss. He just took over the palace & laid low, like a small king on a small hill.

Boba is the first one to try to come in & consolidate power, & that's why he's suddenly on everyone's radar.
