The Book of Boba Fett

Yeah I actually remember seeing the collar section buckling in one of the previews. I can understand wearing flexible stunt armor for action scenes but they do need to be more aware of what it's doing on screen. I do find it odd they'd use stunt armor for the dressing scene though. It's possible the flexible stunt armor and hero armor are one and the same for the actor's comfort I suppose and that could explain why the cod piece has simply disappeared altogether. It's probably much easier to sit and move without it.

You can see the collarbone section flex big time when he's fighting the space ninjas in the street. It's front and center, can't miss it once you know it's there

Add it to the pile of low-quality blunders alongside Fennec's parkour sneakers and the random bald guy who's clearly not Temuera strangling the monster at the end
I mean Tem has to be able to move in that costume and he's no spring chicken which has me thinking...put your helmet back on...use a stunt double and just use the formula that is proven to work like Brendan Wayne did in Mando's suit( which btw, is an amazing suit)...the action would have been better but....that's not the story they want to tell, they want Boba to be very human and not the cold blooded bounty hunter of ROTJ...and yes, the budget seems tight in this first episode but let's wait and be patient. Lol

Now that you mention that, I remember the scene where Boba is suiting up and it looks like his armor was rubber. The chest armor looked like it flexed when he was putting it on which Durasteel or Beskar would not do.
He wears the stunt armor a lot

When he climbs out of the pit watch his gauntlets flexing, and oblonging like jelly

The big one though is watch the Jawas take his helmet off, the jaws actually squishes it when he removes it, easily warping it

The armor looks very light when they rip it off his chest

And when he’s fighting the shield ninjas, his chest plate armor buckles and bends, flex’s super super easy

It stood out right away to me, the helmet and gauntlet scene is by far the worst.. It’s literally like jelly

I’m willing to bet the stunt armor weighs less then then hero armor…

The stunt helmet the t visor looks like it even flexed with the helmet so I imagine he can’t see through it and it’s one solid cast piece

Question: would you like Boba to be killed-off at the end of the series? And who could kill him? I watched the first episode and wasn't happy about the pace or some of the scenes/costumes (mentioned by previous posts). Compared with The Mandalorian, it seems that the stuff is shot real fast (sausage factory) and of a lesser quality...I don't know; I'll watch the next one to see where/how everything is put together:unsure:

I have a gut feeling he will be dead by the end of the series

I can see him sacrificing himself..

oh man...yes, the Book should end with Boba dying as Usagi Pilgrim and Halliwax and others have said...But i've got so many possibilities swirling in my head(fan Theories) as to how.

heres just a couple...

1.as Halliwax stated ...a sacrifice(possibly saving Fennec as she has pretty much taken care of him and had his back for so long or saving that young Tusken who has grown some (maybe they meet again, or maybe saves Mando from something.)

2. I can't see him dying Without the Slave 1 somehow...IDK, maybe Fennec is an agent of Thrawn because he's still out there

3. Mando gives the Darksaber to Boba...and too many people are after it to be Mandalore(Imagine Boba somehow dying as Mandalore? then the darksaber falls to some inheritance statute or something? idk) My mind is spinning to fast...lol, need to wait.

I’d rather him not be killed off again but I think it could plausibly happen by the time everything is said and done. If he is dying, I could see them going “The Shootist” with it, for any western fans here. Anyway, I think Fennec Shand is waiting in the wings to take over.

Case in point is Boba Fetts armor in ROTJ looks 100 times better and more realistic than in TBOB. Looks weathered, used...the current rendition is pristine looking...very unrealistic to me.

The thing is, Boba's armor is supposed to be cleaner and newer looking, it's not a mistake or oversight but a deliberate choice. If you recall when we first saw Cobb Vanth the in The Mandalorian, the armor was in even better looking condition because he obivously took the time to clean it up and repaint it, that's why it looks the way it does. I'll agree that it does look odd, but that's only because we're used to the old chipped, scratched, and scorched Mando armor that Fett wore. If you look closely, you'll notice that the armor has a lot more scratches and chips than it did in The Mandalorian, strongly suggesting that it's been well used as well as making it look more like what we saw in the OT..

Boba ruling mandalore would be awesome

With his new armor having a different weathering with chips and scratches, I don’t think the audience is suppose to notice that

I don’t think this armors damage is meant to be “he’s been in battle in mando season 2”

I think the new weathering job is just from the new prop department

If you look in season 2 even when he pains it, all he does his spray bomb it, there is still acid damage all over the armor and helmet

Book of fett there isn’t any acid damage and just some light weathering

All because it’s just a totally different prop department who made the costume

The Prequels gave us pristine ships...robes...lightsabers...like they sat around all day polishing their weapons. I was in the military so i know how important cleaning your rifle is but that's more for functionality..not appearances. The OT gave us a gritty, blue collar look which i loved. The ST and Mandalorian (Luke specifically and Boba) brings us back to pristine equipment and lightsabers (from the Yuma and V2 to the shiny Hero in the Mando finale). Not saying it isn't intentional or wrong, just not my cup of tea and maybe i'm missing something.

someone out there...can you explain to me Canonically why this maybe is so?

edit: I know the story of the lightsaber props, i'm talking more about clean to dirty back to clean again...
Jango's Mandalorian armor is clean-Boba's is dirty(makes sense..wear and tear over time) but then clean it up again? is there a status with armor cleanliness and even color of armor? i need more understanding on mandalorian/Jedi culture...lol. As long as we have Mandalorians in the picture, we have ties to the Old Republic and eventually Revan...which...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!!

I was discussing with my wife last night and I couldn't for the life of me remember how the first episode ended. So I had to pull it up on my phone. It's Boba taking a drink from the Sand Person. I understand the significance in the context of this first episode, but it's completely forgettable. Compare that with the ending to Mando S1E1, with the huge fortress set-piece and then discovering The Child... I mean, it's no comparison, really. Mando left you wanting more, and Boba left you wondering why they're doing this in the first place.

I may be dead wrong but what clearly pops out in my mind is:

1:what Boba possibly learned from the Tuskans while in captivity(their customs, rituals, values...humility)

2.How the people feared the Hutts and now maybe a new way to gain respect and show a different way of governance(Mos Espa)

3.Boba's flashbacks revealing MAJOR influences on his life (has he forgotten the Jedi's killed his father? or has he seen the effects of his Dad's ways leading to death and maybe doesn't want to travel that same path anymore?

it's very interesting how sickness, lack of health, and aging can start to make you think about what you are doing in life...it did me(in my past and very recently) i can tell you...had a very tough time with Covid and am still feeling the effects.(fortunate, to still be here, honestly)

All this, to me is a pretty good story even though i may not like the delivery so far but...must be patient and let it play out.
