The Book of Boba Fett

I know it can be tricky to get right so I'm sure it's not as easy as it seems, especially without having it originally in mind. I think another issue is replicating Ford's voice and mannerisms. To really do it justice, they need to have it in mind to do right from the start. I will say I'd love to see Disney quietly replace the Tarkin and Luke scenes with Shamook's versions though! Haha!

Yep, definite improvement & with him in LFL now (apparently) they could pull off a post ROTJ Harrison

Side note, still think it was R2 that rescued Grogu at Order 66 time, that’s why he has that fascination with the RC gear nob with the metallic blue dot, & why he dandered up to R2 to be lifted by Luke

.....I....I like that theory.

Man, I’m just excited we have this stuff to dissect and discuss, regardless of what the opinions are.

I honestly believe telling a Boba Fett story was gonna be the most difficult task we’ve seen for Star Wars….maybe ever. Just for the simple fact that Boba Fett had such limited time in the OT and people have extrapolated that to branch into different views on him over the past 40 years. Not only from just fans who watched the OT in the 80s, but fans that have joined at any point over the past 40 years. Hes been in books, comics, animated series, etc. Which media fans have read/watched (and liked or didn’t like) also makes a big difference. They can tell a good story here and it still may feel “off” for a group of fans.

I’m just gonna enjoy the ride and enjoy the discussion. A lot of good points and views here. I think I’ll still hold judgement until the series concludes. See how it all fits together. There is also the chance that there is a season 2, so it may even go beyond these episodes, but I’m having fun with it so far.

I know the Stormtrooper in the pit is odd
But what if after the whole Sail Barge escape and explosion. The Empire went to investigate, and a Stormtrooper accidently fell into the pit
And he couldn't be saved or maybe the rest of the Troopers didn't care or didn't see him fall in.
So, I'm pretty sure this what might of happen

I honestly just didn’t like the look of the Goro monster, narratively the concept is sound though. I also think the Stormtrooper being in the pit was weird, but again it served the story because it gave us some claustrophobia/body horror elements with Boba suffocating which was cool to me.

On the monster Fett fights in the dessert, I've been seeing online where people are saying "It should have been a Gundark" and "It should have been a Krayt Dragon" and "It should have been Dewback" and my thoughts are...... does it REALLY matter to the overall story they are trying to tell what the creature is?
I'm wondering if its not a nod to Ray Harryhausen..
The creature certainly looks similar to his work and we are talking about Jon and Dave here who love a good Easter egg or too..

EDIT: Double post in one message.

I don’t see the big deal with the storm trooper? They are on the planet.. i think that’s all we need.. we’ll at least for me.. I don’t need something this insignificant explained

Boba fett weak and sick 5 years after the pit that is my big concern…
yeah...i went back and watched it again and i guess the stormtrooper doesn't bother me as much as it did when i first saw it...i noticed that the acid had eaten through its armor etc...I guess if i'm going to be honest with how my initial reaction was to seeing it, is that it looked too convenient to me that his oxygen EDIT(or whatever it was) source was right there and we know others fell into the pit at the same time so i expected to see more bodies, plus with the fact that the digestion is slow...i have to remind myself that this is a flashback and flashback/dreams are not always filled with details. If we were watching a live action series right after ROTJ and thats the time period (current time) we were dealing with, then it would be justified to be called "Lazy" IMO. But, i could be guilty of making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I just rewatched TBOB and i just had to laugh at something i missed...

Boba gets stripped of all his armor and helmet by the Jawas after coming out of the Sarlacc. (where there is smoke there are Jawas)

In Mos Espa, after Boba gets his helmet filled with coins and is attacked along with Fennec, he drops his helmet and some coins spill out...
Where? oh, right at the feet of some jawas...They start trying to pick up the coins instead of just running off with his helmet that has most of the coins in it anyway...lol

Well...after the fight was over the helmet was still there, thankfully. (They must have been less selfish Jawas) lol

The Gamorrean guards must of got lost too coming out of the "Resort" (SQUIRREL!!!) they were right behind him...lol

OK...on the next episode(only 2 days away..yay!!) I'm committed to not rewatching it right away...just soak it in..relax...enjoy and less scrutinization
(huge exhale)

I really liked the line “did you catch any of that!?” When the first alien was in there paying tribute lol

“We need a protocol droid”
I really like the dialogue better than the action at times. Do you think his time with the sandpeople has taught him a lot about governing and understanding culture and has it changed him as a person to be more selfless? Or do you think he will use that knowledge and understanding for self gain? (You alluded up in the feed about maybe a "different" kind of Boba)

I'm not sure how deep of a dive Dave, John, and Robert will take when referencing their own favorite bits of the EU, but when I saw the TK in the Sarlacc pit, I immediately remembered The Skiff Guard's Tale from Tales from Jabba's Palace. In it a Skiff guard tells Boba about the time his sister ended up being chased by a squad of Stormtroopers and they eventually ended up at the Sarlacc, crashed, and were sliding in, but at the last moment one of the TKs had a change of heart and prevented the sister from being grabbed by a tentacle, at the expense of being grabbed himself.

Since the story is a Skiff Guard telling Boba this as the overlook the Sarlacc before the execution, it's either a great Easter Egg/Nod/Reference or a great coincidence. Either way, that's what I thought of when I saw it.

WOW!!!!! Awesome point!!! Thank You very much for this!! Game Changer ...Another reminder for patience

Thank you for sharing, I didn’t remember this

I agree. What a time to be alive, to be able to even HAVE a Boba Fett series to talk about! And overseen by two guys that have a deep respect for the SW lore and what was done in the EU as well. Doesn't mean that "their" story will line up with our decades of head canon, but it's obvious that they respect the character and want to tell an engaging story. And although Temura may not seem to be the same Fett that we first saw in TESB, at least he is a competent actor who loves the role and brings a certain gravitas.

There's a LOT to look back on here. SW was amazing in 1977; one of its kind. The best I could relate it to may be the original Matrix film in 1999. Seemingly came out of nowhere and upturned the audience's expectations of what film could be and do.

And TESB was one of the best film sequels ever put to film, right up there with Godfather 2, T2, and Aliens.

We can hope. He's done some incredible deepfakes WITHOUT having access to the original digital film files or assets. Imagine what he can do when working with ILM.
