The Book of Boba Fett

Oh no doubt. It's one of my favorite episodes of the series and was a great way to kick off the season. Olyphant was great as Fauxba Fett.. I think we had hoped BoBF would start off with a punch and it didn't really do that. This appears to instead be a slow burn, which is fine as long as the payoff is good.

couldn't agree more..Fauxba Fett? that was clever...made me chuckle

We can be happy that they did not took an Ewok in the Sarlac. :D

For me the Sarlac is like a big ant lion that has normally lot of sand over his mouth. One wrong step and you are food.
Honestly, I'd have weirdly had more respect for them if they had the balls to put a half digested Ewok randomly in there with him instead of rando stormy Tk#485792911011101!!@^$. In fact it would have been a perfect little geek tie-in reference to that 'Return of the Ewok' mockumentary thing from the end of ROTJ done by the production cast. Boba seeing it in there and expressing a silent "wtf is that?" reaction through the helmet as he's slowly cutting his way out of that hellscape.

Omg I just can not get over how badly done the inside of the Sarlacc's stomach set was... It was just so unbelievably depressing and unrealistic looking in production quality. I expected to see glimpses of some truly nightmarish stuff in there... some of the darkest most disturbing images to ever come out of StarWars... Add weight to this vile form of execution which Jabba saves only for his most hated of victims.
Jabba had a sailbarge and skiffs for a reason... This thing with Luke was hardly the first time he'd utilized this desert horror as a means of public execution.. And his audience cheered in glee as he did it...
There should be bodies half digested/absorbed into walls moaning and crying out in pain, reaching for him in vein for help, or even grabbing at him as he passes by and hindering his escape as their consciousness is being absorbed/merged into the Sarlaccs own consciousness... I mean ******... the Rancor looks more scary now...

These guys sadly don't seem to be that imaginative though.. "Action Figures Smashing into Each Other".. is there not a truer description for what this feels like now?.. Do these guys actually pay attention to what really happens on screen in the original movies?? Or is it all just "Georges vision" now.. whatever that is supposed to be

The simplest way I can say how I feel about BoBF (so far) and The Mandalorian is that it's fun to see new SW material, characters and locations mixed-in with OT characters and locations. That's what I've wanted since I was a kid, watching ESB when it originally came out. I wanted to watch stories with Stormtroopers, and Bounty Hunters, and the Empire, and new spaceships & robots, and good & bad characters fighting for what they believe in. And these shows offer some of that.

Until a few years ago I never imagined we'd have a weekly live action Star Wars TV show with film-quality visuals, so I do appreciate them a lot.

But setting my lifelong SW addiction aside for a minute, my honest criticism is that except for occasional moments, I don't believe the shows are any good. They look good, there's great material in there for quick 1-minute teasers, but I find most of it dull. The first episode of BoBF was no exception.

I find a lot of the directing to be flat-out bad, the writing and performances are weak at best, the staging and pacing are for the most part under-developed, and the scoring is forgettable. I was hoping BoBF would kick off by demonstrating a step up in quality, being from the 2-season Mando team, but it didn't. Fun to watch, not to rewatch. All potential - no substantial delivery.

Good Greef!!! Is a de-aged Han gonna freeze Boba in carbonite now too?

Can You imagine the stare down like a western dual, what the dialogue might be like? (This is all facetious)

Han Solo: (DL44 holstered) It's been a long time Boba...what, rejected even by a Sarlacc?

Boba: (Rifle pointed at Han) stays silent.

Han Solo: You don't look so good...maybe you should rethink your life.

Boba: I don't look like much kid, but i've got it where it counts.

Han Solo: ya got a new bounty on me Boba? Got a new boss?

Boba: I am the boss

Han Solo: let me guess...here to freeze me in carbonite again?

Boba: Too boring, i'm thinking a warmer location this time...and you've been in sticky situations before...It's a familiar place...for both of us.

Han Solo: you've come back to settle the score...big mistake

Boba: ...to pay a debt...to myself

Han Solo: Over my dead body (Han draws DL44 and hits Boba in the helmet and deflects)

Boba : (fires grapple cable at Han's hand and knocks blaster to the ground) steps forward with rifle pointed at Han. "You're coming with me"

(Out of nowhere Leia emerges, lightsaber ignited, slicing his rifle and cable freeing Han. Boba ignites his flame thrower but Leia force pushes it back in his face. Temporarily blinded, Boba draws his blaster and starts firing at will. Han picks up his blaster but it's too late for Boba...the firing stops and Boba slumps to the ground and his head rolls to the ground. Leia is standing over the body breathing heavy)

Han Solo(walks over looking down at Boba says to Leia) seems like you're always coming to my rescue

Leia: (with a smirky smile says)I know

LOL

My first thought when i saw it was a huge version of the creature from the black lagoon , much bigger, with extra arms...either way, i hate it...doesn't look star wars to me at all. I would of rather had another Krayt Dragon. I was gonna say this is another thing created to get a toy made from but we still haven't gotten a 3.75 scale MUDHORN for crying out loud!!!! even though Mando has it's insignia on his armor(opportunity missed)

It was ridiculous Ingruber didn’t get the gig in that Solo movie. Even if he was just impersonating Harrison Ford, it couldn’t have been as wooden as Alden Ehrenreich and he would’ve actually bore a resemblance to Han Solo. On the other hand, Donald Glover’s casting as Lando was inspired and he did a fantastic job I thought.

As for the spoiler, when I heard that the YT deepfaker Shamook had been hired by LFL, I had assumed we’d see more deepfaked/deaged iterations of our heroes. His deepfake “redo” of Tarkin/Leia in Rogue One and Luke in The Mandalorian looked better than what LFL put out so that was a good hiring choice in all likelihood.

Age of Adeline, Ingruber actually plays a young Harrison Ford character...Looks like him...sounds like him...pulls off Harrison very well. I'm still scratching my head over that decision.

I had heard that Ehrenreich was cozy with Spielberg and known him a long time. Of course, Kathy Kennedy is in the same circles and it kinda sounded like it was possibly an inside hire.
