A 2016 book called Star Wars: The Complete Locations claimed Yoda had his lightsaber stored in his hut on Dagobah. Meanwhile, a 2017 Darth Vader comic depicted Palpatine publicly burning Yoda’s lightsaber publicly as a propaganda stunt. Both comic book writer Charles Soule and Lucasfilm rep Matt Martin have pointed out there’s no canon error, and fans can easily imagine Yoda having built a second lightsaber.
i feel ya, there is even a comic saying he will never wield a lightsaber every again...Yeah I always felt like that was a sloppy bit of course correction and it was definitely a canon error. How and why would Yoda build a new lightsaber on Dagobah? I can't imagine that'd interest him at that point, even if he had the tools and materials to do it.
From what? We saw nothing metal, and crystals aren't found there.so ive been doing some detective work the last few days. i know in the comics palpatine ends up doing a ceremony where he burns lightsabers on a balcony in a furnace
the crystals blow up and make different colors
and the last one he throws into the furnace was yodas
i stopped reading when ep8 came out, so this stuck out right away
i did some googling and found that yoda actually recently while on dagobah he rebuilt his lightsaber from scratch
It was supposed to be made from parts found in the ship he arrived in. He used it as well to build parts of his hut. From what? We saw nothing metal, and crystals aren't found there.
bits and pieces from his space ship. the major question would be where did he get the crystal? From what? We saw nothing metal, and crystals aren't found there.
Post Disney, are comics the same level of canon? I thought they put that in a sublevel of canon or something like that. Movies didn't have to stick to it, just other comics/books or something. And if it is canon, how can mess something that's already messed up to begin with?i feel ya, there is even a comic saying he will never wield a lightsaber every again...

this is another reason why i refuse to spend anymore money on this... when disney rebooted canon i bought EVERYTHING story related... every book every comic... everything..
after the ep8 disappointed i refused to give them a dime.. and then stories just slowly started to contradict themselves.. then by ep9 so much stuff was screwed up i just laughed at it
and now filioni is even erasing or should i say altering the canon coming from the comics...
sorry buddy, my mind is like a fruit fly.. i buzz in all different directions lolWell... Learned my lesson with that, Halliwax!
Here I am, trying to be a good Disney/LucasFilm shill, preaching the message that our head canon is fine, but we need to let it go & let the story be told as the creators intend.
Then you post that, & you've got an official rep, basically saying, "Hey... We showed you A, B, & C, & that's the OFFICIAL STORY, but if you'd rather 'imagine' X, Y, & Z, then that's fine too.".
What the CRAP, dude???
I'm trying to HELP you here!
LOL
i was going to post that but ya beat me to it!It was supposed to be made from parts found in the ship he arrived in. He used it as well to build parts of his hut.
Lolsorry buddy, my mind is like a fruit fly.. i buzz in all different directions lol
I only count now what i see on tv and the movies, i won't count anything in the comics or books anymore
when disney bought star wars all books and comics were erased... i believe it was 2013 when the first book came out, heir to the jedi, and the shortly after the comics started. the lucas story group was formed and they controlled everything so there would NEVER be a continuity issue and the stories would all matchPost Disney, are comics the same level of canon? Lol
Didn't mean I was trying to help you. I was trying to help the guy that said that like they pay me to do. LOL
There was a good thread I saw online pointing out the language when announcing the show. Mainly referring to it as the next chapter in the Mandalorian story. I think this was their plan all along and they didn’t communicate it well. Though I’m trying to think of the alternative, and if they named it The Mandalorian S3, people expecting that from the start would be disappointed.Yeah I'm seeing a lot of people that are mystified as to what the thinking was when they were planning this series out. Truly bizarre, even if the errant episodes themselves are great. I agree it doesn't seem fair to Temuera Morrison and frankly a lot of Boba Fett fans don't appreciate the bait and switch. That Fett has not being written as a particularly interesting or compelling character is only more salt on the wound. So nice that Boba Fett would dedicate a chapter of his book to a baby he's never met and to one of his enemies. Lol!
Now that you’ve mentioned this is really deals like BoBF episodes 5 and 6 were actually Mando 3.1 and 3.2. You don’t need to know any other Boba stuff for the plot to still work, and Fennec would have just showed up at the end of the first episode to introduce the next side quest. There was a good thread I saw online pointing out the language when announcing the show. And while I think they plan to blend the shows and characters more and more, I think this version was more of a one-off due to COVID delays. It seemed to mess up planning for some parts of Mando S3 and this was the compromise to still give a bit.
The fact that the Boba storyline has been mostly mediocre is the bigger problem for me. The loss of these two episodes provides less time to turn his story around.
