LOL, and "I" came from the opposite view, that the midi's restricted people from ever using the force. When I was a kid there was no magical mitochondria gatekeeper that kept me from believing I could be a jedi. Luke was a farmboy, a "normal" kid from a rural community. If he could become a magic space warrior, why couldn't I? But then the prequels are all like, "Nope, sorry kid, nobody can be a jedi except the select few with magical space bacteria."
Obviously I never really thought I could be a space knight with magical powers, I'm just thinking of how it would impact children's imaginations and creative play.
