The Book of Boba Fett

Well, the TV Star Wars stories are really just becoming a phenomena that is light on story and heavy on “Easter Eggs” and “Nostalgia Nuggets”.

And….this is the formula they have landed on as it seems to please a size-able portion of the fan-base.

The most beloved things about both TBOBF and The Mandalorian seem to begin with the statement “….it was so awesome to see [insert OT / PT character, prop, set piece, filming location, vehicle] again! I gushed! I wept!

Case in point regarding the most beloved thing from The Mandalorian…

Easter Eggs..

The "Wheres Wally/Waldo"
For the Internet...

I used to like the odd nod wink or cameo stuck in a movie but its like a Cramathon atm...

You just proved a good case of cause and effect....RJ killed off Luke which pissed a lot of people off so Mandalorian brings him back as a nostalgia nugget? I don't think so...The fans wanted to see a Luke like this in the movies but it didnt happen. Luke on Mando was a giant "we're sorry for the other screw ups"I mean for crying out loud...They brought the Emperor back from the dead and then used Rey and Kylo to effectively take down the whole Star Wars universe and all the Empire. Fans don't want more of the same...they want the legacy characters to stay the legacy characters and they would have rather had their stories continue not just exterminated. I can't stand nostalgia nuggets..cheapens everything but to say Luke himself was one of those...that makes it even worse...just a continuation of destroying a character.

And, yet, in this very thread people were commenting on how much they would love to see Han Solo pop-up, just like Luke, in TBOBF…

Fans are really a cause of why we see the same improbable characters and plots popping up over, and over, and over again in the Star Wars galaxy.

Fandom subsists solely on a steady diet of “Nostalgia Nuggets”, as far as Disney believes. “Just give us more of the same…”

I am certain we will see Darth Maul pop-up in the Kenobi series, as well as “You’ll Be Dead Guy”, and maybe Mace Windu (with a mechanical hand and heavy back brace), and perhaps even Jar Jar…

Didn’t I hear that Vader is slated to show-up; despite the dialogue in ANH indicating that their duel on the Death Star was the first time they had seen each other since Vader was “…but a learner”?
On the question of Maul and hope I'm not opening a can of worms but Is Ray still Maul.. I liked his brief but awesome play in TPM and shock as in didn't expect his cameo in Solo..

Truth be told, I was happy to see Luke on Mando! It was a much more fitting 'send off' than the stupid, idiotic, brainless, unsatisfying, reproachable, despicable, deplorable, lamentable, god-awful, undefendable, crap we got in TLJ!
Amen...atleast we got a small glimpse of a Luke we expected to see at some point...even though it was against robots. I thought it was the best moment in Star Wars since R2D2 flung Lukes saber up in the air on Jabbas Sailbarge...I will speak for myself, if it wasn't for the Mandalorian show i would have been done with Star Wars...say i'm not a true fan all you want, i don't care. I'm an OT guy, will always be but Mando brought the magic back that i experienced as a child...that's a remarkably hard thing to do and they did it.

I liked Luke with fresh green monster milk in his beard and dribbled on his shirt. He looked so dignified, exactly as I imagined he would be, as the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy….

It was like watching Superman doing keg stands and throwing up on himself.

I remember the cinema crowd roaring with joy at that moment!..Still get the shivers just thinking about it..
