The Book of Boba Fett

You honestly think all Obi did... for 18 years... was sit, day after day, in the hot sun with sand (that's irritating and gets everywhere)... and sit on a dune creeping on the Lars Homestead with a pair of binocs? :D Who knows, maybe he did. It will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe he had high speed data connection and spent 18 seasons playing D&KD (Deserts & Krayt Dragons). :D
In his spare time he was learning the art of disappearance into force ghost eternity from Qui-gon...atleast that's what Yoda told him to do...
or practicing the art of "creepy uncle"...oh...thats where RJ pulled it from.

He has to.. otherwise it devalues his sacrifice… he say there for 19 years meditating and training.. hoping he could get Luke to train..

And if you count canon today, like was actually a back up plan. It was leia who was going to be trained first

I do recall a time when this forum was a little more hostile but that was many years ago. It is refreshing to be able to talk about something as contentious as Star Wars tends to be without people taking opposing points of view personally! Optimism is never a bad thing.

I adore Unforgiven and it's one of my favorite movies, but I will say one difference from BoBF was that there was a clear point made repeatedly that William Munny wasn't who he once was. Even Munny himself says as such. He couldn't even shoot as well as he once could, as evidenced by his "target practice" session. It takes a tragedy for him to muster that last bit of "badassery" that had so long been dormant. So far there hasn't been anything verbally said, by Fett or anyone else, that he's not who he used to be, or can't fight as well as he once could. I could've accepted it if they wanted to go in this direction with Boba Fett but there just hasn't been anything said that indicates Fett's questionable decisionmaking/prowess is intentional as opposed to just bad writing. If they had wanted to go heavy on the fact that he's sick or something is wrong with him, that would've been fine too, but frankly it seems like it's getting too late in the game for that to be a major plot point to be introduced. So far we're just basing that on supposition and the fact he has those nightly bacta baths, which seem excessive for having been in the sarlacc for no longer than he was.

As for the Obi-wan show, I have serious reservations about that as well, especially with the inclusion of Darth Vader. There's just so many ways for that show to go wrong and I'd prefer they leave all that alone. I have no problem accepting that Obi-wan dedicated his final decades to watching over Luke from a distance, in meditation and solitude. That sacrifice gives him a more tragic and mythic quality in my book.

I totally forgot about vader.. I could see them pulling it off if vader is having nightmares about the duel and that’s what we are seeing. Visions or nightmares of the duel..

But for vader and obiwan to meet up again.. terrible

I totally forgot about Obiwan learning how to ascend by "talking" with the force spirit of Qui Gon. That would totally take a few years to grasp.

Did they for sure say that Obiwan and VADER were meeting up, or was it Obiwan and Anakin? If Anakin... memory flashback territory just like in Mandalorian and BOBF. I "thought" they said Vader myself, but maybe I'm just tapping into the collective unconscious. :)

Oh yes, it’s Vader.
Edit- I really should have said "Oh no, it's Vader."

Totally agree. I'm hoping the reason they're including Hayden is because we'll be seeing pre-Vader flashbacks and not because we're going to see helmetless Vader for any substantial amount of time or a "battle-damaged" Vader that I've always found so cheesy. I thought Rogue One handled unsuited Vader well, just giving us glimpses like they did in TESB. Makes Vader's reveal at the end of RoTJ have more impact when we finally see him again.

great points. Not saying it parallels Unforgiven to a tee at all but many of Eastwoods westerns, especially that one. Munny had lost an edge but who he was came out in the end. His wife (biggest influence) was gone, now he had kids to take care of. He always was who he was. It layed dorment until...Boba may be having a heart change but his rage and brutality is still there...and his aim is pretty good. What they haven't shown us yet is what happened between the time that he left Mando to reuniting with Fennec and returning back to kill Fortuna. That is a huge missing link to this because he was totally fine before that...The fact that Boba didn't come in to Jabbas Palace in a blaze of glory himself but had Fennec take out everyone EXCEPT Bib, tells me that He had to get the credit for that kill specifically...it was planned that way, Fennec could have got Bib too. Boba seems like a rechargeable battery who is saving all his best for last...he's going out in a blaze of glory.

Doesn't the Schofield kid remind you of that young bounty hunter on the Mandalorian episode The Gunslinger?

Here is a question: Is it possible they filmed 2 endings for the BOBF in case fans don't like it up to the finale, they can kill him off and be done with the book or if fans are really digging it, continue another season by having him live?

Would be really cool to see Qui-Gon Jinn come back as a force ghost in Kenobi; just ONE scene where he appears and maybe talks about Ankakin. Imagine.

AS long as they don't change any facet of the character it would be interesting. Honestly, before any of the ST came out i expected them to include an Obi Wan talk with Luke again somehow in what would be episode 7...
