The Batman costume research and found parts ID

Here's an interesting thing about the basketweave belt that you can see thanks to ed-209's photos: the design of the basketweave changes slightly from the left of the buckle to the right of the buckle:

Here's some belts I found that are close to the pattern on our left:

"Aker Leather B01 Sam Browne Leather-Lined Duty Belt, 2-1/4" Width , Black , 48"":

Aker Leather B03 Sam Browne Duty Belt (1 and 2):

"Ryno Gear Basketweave 2¼" Duty Belt with Chrome Buckle":

And for the pattern on our right I found these:

"Hoseman Basketweave Leather Duty Belt":

"Safariland 146 Border Patrol Style Duty Belt, Black, Basketweave for 36-Inch Waist":

Another odd detail is that a part of his gauntlet is designed to mimic the side of a Glock pistol, complete with the serial number 175751GD:

Here's a comparison of the gauntlet to the area around the ejection port and extractor on a real Glock:

They even have it mirrored on the opposite gauntlet, even though I don't think they make Glocks that eject on the left:

Awesome info. Do you have any on the buckle by chance?

Thank you

Has anyone found the buckle yet?
I think it is a custom job for the movie. I’m a few days away from having my all metal v3 replicas ready for purchase.

Hey everyone! Loving the photos/display pieces I noticed in the photos posted from the Philly display by Toa Quarax that the belt is cut into sections by the buckle. Could have been done for flexibility reasons allowing for a bit more ab crunch. My friend noticed the belt underneath looks like a tactical gun belt. They can be found here Gun Belts but I imagine they can be found even cheaper on other online stores.

To me the material almost looks like the rough side of strong Velcro

Still trying to find good stills from rewatching the movie myself for a better close up of the helmets face vents. I believe he wears his Australian military boots as well in drifter clothes maybe to swap to his costume faster. Closest helmet I’ve found is something like this Helmet.
Having just watched the movie, there's really not much to go on as far as his Drifter outfit goes. As for the boots I think it was confirmed earlier as the TCX hero. Keep us posted if you find out anything else. Thank you.

I believe the material behind the belt is an elastic band of some sort, as you can see it stretching more on top than on the bottom.

I found some images of the mask that show more of what is happening underneath. On one of them, you can see the mesh and elastic material that holds the chin area tight.

Is Batman carrying batons? Any ideas of the types of holders and batons shown here?

There also seems to be a skull cap of some sort inside of the mask, which makes the top half stick out more from the head. It looks like many of the cowls people are making do not account for this and end up looking more narrow at the top. I actually prefer the wider top look of the movie cowl.

Also, the mask is vacuum cast in urethane as separate pieces, and the stitch holes are part of the cast. Then the pieces are stitched together using the cast holes.

Attached is the best view of the gauntlet grapple mechanism I've seen online so far. If you slow it down frame-by-frame, it almost looks like the grapple gun is stored upside-down and then flips over as it comes out.

I think you could be right! I am worried that with stretch fabric having it riveted to the belt might cause some issues with tearing, but then again it could be sewed along the top as well disguised by the belts original trim stitch. Found a similar looking heavy duty stretch fabric on Amazon really cheap.

Some images posted online that show many details of the suit. You can see the grapple gun part of the gauntlets much better here, as well as details of the undersuit without the chest plate.

I remember seeing the shots of the stunt guys with the snaps under the suit. After seeing the pic from the behind the Batman book. Where the top is open I went back to the pics I’ve gathered over the year or so. I did a search and it looks like fidlock snaps. The piece on the suit u see is the female piece. So I assume the make piece is under the chest. I’m pretty sure I know the drifter jacket and helmet as well. Will post soon

I totally missed this but what did it say those metal rods are on the top of his gauntlets?
If you look at one of the statues, it looks like the wrist dart things are actually grapnel hooks. I’ve seen the movie four times now and could be wrong, but I don’t believe we see him using them/removing them from his gauntlets.

I believe they are extra hooks that expand like the ones that shoot out. Don’t look at the prime 1 statue to much it’s more of a concept. Because the grapple that’s in his leg holster that’s pictured with the prime 1 is a sticky bomb gun that shoots the bomb that’s in the canister in his belt.
The Prime1 Statues

At first I thought these were just rivets holding the belt segments together, but I think they are the button snaps that hold the belt in place against the jacket. There seem to be a few places around the waist that have snaps for the belt.

Do you have anything to back that up? I don’t recall him ever using it in the movie

This thread had been a godsend, thank you all for your hard work. Im getting pretty close to being done with my suit. Im down to the boots and the cape. Has anybody managed to teach down the spats he wears over the boots? I've looked everywhere and I'm starting to think they're custom. If they are custom, does anybody know of anyone that knows how to make custom spats? LOL
Do you have a template for the armor here?

He used the bomb but not the gun. If you look at the hot toys toy it shows him with the gun and they call it a sticky bomb gun. On the end it has the same canister bomb attached to it. Hot toys get photos from
Production before they make these things. So I definitely trust them
