The Artic Predator ! New Pics 4-15-13 Soundboard

I am blown away by your progress so far..totaly amazing...yeah it is good to have an understanding partner when it comes too messy creative stuff. Really like the WIP pics they have gave me a deeper understanding of different processes.

Can you post some of your motivation on the marketplace..I will definitely buy some...lol

Thanks for sharing

Sean

with a rise that high, how stable do you think they will be?  i'm currently in the process of sculpting my feet.  i was planning on doing just an inch of foam or so.

Ha! No, that is frank my computer guru, He has elected to build a twin speaker unit with 4 sound sounds. And as far as selling that motivation, i am going to need it to finish the rest of this by the end of the month before comicon hits town ! Well the risers are very stable in fact i was able to jog down the road with them on , Good thing i live in the country (nobody saw me!)And i say if your gonna do it do it big , or tall for that matter !. but seriously i would go a little higher it's no big deal just wear the shoes with lifts for a while to get used to them.

Oh i almost forgot to post this the thigh armor. I made this while i was at lunch today it needs alot to get finished but it's a good start.

OK that went faster than i thought here is the thigh armor ready for casting I will probably throw more details on before i do that . I can never leave things alone .
And now on to the next project is the leg armor i have been dreading this one but, now that i have a few things made i have a few ideas.
And yes the armature is what is left of my poor foot sculpt. Bye Bye 60 hours of my life.
i will throw up more pics tomorrow

UPDATE AGAIN !
Here is the shoulder bell i made a while ago just got around to throwing some latex in it the mold sucks (mostly because i had my daughters boyfiend helping me.)
Anyway it came out nice after a few fixes to it
And now on to the leg armor it's coming together well and i threw up a pic of the torso with the muscles .In this process i am able to sand down and dremel out spots where i want . Works perfect for quick torso making. And i added the beads and some final touches to the mask . What do yoou think?
Well back to the monster room

WOW! I stepped away for a bit to work on my bio and when I come back to look I realize I have missed a LOT of progress on this...you are seriously motivated on this build. It is really looking fabulous. Thanks for the pics...they are always helpful to follow along.

Dude, haven't checked out this wip thread in a while and I am blown away with where you have taken this. Excellent work, keep it coming bud

Suit of the year , its all i can say

I love the theme
And looks awesome, your creating a lot of stuff yourself and i like to see that, its exellent
And i fell in love with the gauntlet
Keep the updates coming ;)

Hey thanks that means alot to me knowing that this suit is looking good !! i have some pretty big shoes to fill around here.
well enough about that !!!

UPDATES
I am finishing the castings on the thigh armor and the shin guards here they are in the casting forms as usual. and while i has waiting for them to dry i started making my back pack .The way i do it is start with a sheet of cardboard and cut out a piece not too big because i slowly start cutting it down to fit . If you haven't noticed i am trying to stick with a NARIN STYLE of predator so the back pack will also have the same sleek look . I put in a picture of the old oneand the back will have a totally different look and profile
Once i have the shape cut out i will put on some kid foam sheets with some hot glue to give it some depth . Now on this build i am going to sculpt a medicomp pack to mostly have the same look as the rest of the suit. It will be much larger than the old one in the picture. I was planning on making this a twin gun unit, but my tech guy want to make them rotate and i didn't have the time to put it all together before the up coming con.   so i will keep you up to date on the back pack it will take the most time mostly because the sound board and speakers will be in it along with the wiring for it.

Thanks man ! Hopefully it will look better in paint we will just have to see my ultra cal should be here today so i can finish it tonight. and i guess i lucked out the show actually isn't until  APRIL  6-7 the tickets stop pre selling on march 17 th so i get almost another week to get it done. and i think i am gonna need it ! now for the

UPDATES!

I pulled 2 thigh armors over the weekend and filled them with foam and cut them back to be glued to the leg portion when i get to that point. I also painted them black i am adding color today at lunch .
I also threw some silicone over my last small trophy skull just waiting on that damn ultra cal to finish that also .
I went out shopping this weekend and found some cool beads that i will put in the dreads along the sides to give it a little more flare . and i also found this study light and i thought yeah there is the gun set up and platform right here. So my idea is to sculpt some extra pieces to the arms and glue them to it mostly for bad ass looks now i am by no means a frabricator but alphatech686 has inspired me to do some , so bear with me big guy i but my idea is to sculpt a proper platform to mount it to the back pack and give it some cool features along the way up . the best part is it has wiring already installed for the lights for the cannon and the cannon can swivel if i so choose, and i can raise it up or down to put it in a closed or ready to shoot posisition and it only cost me 9.00 ok back to the build any help on the gun set up is welcome.!!!
And thanks for everybody looking at the  artic build responces are always welcome !

Well i know you guys think i am slacking but i actually have been hard at work putting this bad boy together here is what i have come up with
First off i finished the cannon mount it will be attached to the back of the backpack with the plates i cut out and fabricated some pieces to bolt it all together and i threw in some pics of the new packpack design it will look the best out of all the others i have made
JEFF that part was for you ! you inspired me to dabble in the out of the box componets the plating is made of pexi glass very tough stuff .
and i was given this leather jacket that had some very cool patterns . and i cleaned out the leg armor and poured some latex in it tonight. After that i will fill it with some ridgid foam to stiffen it up and then make amother for the other foot . UGGGH it's coming together slowly but steady.
and of course i will post a bunch more pics on monday
