Think so. The original t tracks were not rubber but that article says the had rubber t track for TFA.

Yeah, that article posted above makes it out that the t-track used for EP7 was rubber and not a plastic, fiberglass, metal, or resin.

Considering Propshop does so much 3D modeling & printing I would have thought they'd just print a crapload of grips, which would be easier than casting them in rubber. Its also possible that the guy uses "rubber" in very broad meaning, sort of just quickly summing it up, so dont know how much we can count on that one sentence.

i know this is beaten to death, but i just came back from watching TFA for the 9th time... i SWEAR the graflex has short grips the entire time EXCEPT for the stuck in the snow scene.. can't wait to get the bluray
