TFA Cap Shield - Trash Can Lid Version

This was an impulsive side project I've been working on slowly in bits and pieces since August. I've always liked the trash can lid version of Cap's shield that the kid is carrying at the end of The First Avenger (both as a straightforward prop and for more meta reasons). Looking for other prop materials I came across these trash can lids stashed in my yard, and I already had metal-specific acrylic paints in the right colors, so I figured why not.

There's not much to the making-of process. After washing them and scrubbing some old concrete off (with a barbeque grill-cleaning wire brush, go figure) I basically just eyeballed the size of the circles and star and drew them on with a marker, did two layers of paint with fairly neat edges on everything, and then went back over and drybrushed the messy edges.

Since I was making two, I gave one to Mousemeat and kept the other. There are a few little things I'd tweak if I ever did this again (stars are hard to draw evenly, but for whatever reason, even though I tried to make these crooked they didn't turn out crooked enough), but overall as a cost-free replica prop that I haven't seen anyone else do, I'm happy with it.
