TESB carbon freeze chamber blooper

Just watching on TV in HD and noticed as they enter the CF chamber and walk down the stairs a stormtrooper either lost his right shoulder armor piece or its slipped down around his elbow. After 30 years I just noticed this!

*sigh*

Another good one is when Han is dragged back to his cell after being tortured. As they toss him down, one of the troopers helmets is almost knocked of his head.

Maybe GL will fix these mistakes in the Ultimate Special Edition so that they are really pointed out. Some sound that just totally says, "yeah, we meant to have that there." AND change the voices of the Stormtroopers to sound like Battle Droids. Man, I can only hope that happens. :wacko

You know what is funny there, Steveo? The EU has authors who continually bail him out and make SOME of the changes believeable.

Sad really. As much as I love SW and wanted to see new stories, I really, REALLY wish he would have just cut the chord after ROTJ.

Funny how that happens. In The Empire Strikes Back during the duel between Vader and Luke, just before Vader cuts Luke's hand off Luke hits Vader in the shoulder/upper arm with his lightsaber. I think it was my fifth viewing before I realized, "Wait a minute...lightsabers can cut through anything, but Luke's blade just bounces off? Why didn't it just slice right through and cut Vader off at the shoulders?" :unsure

i never had a problem with it. it is ARMOR after all. why would he wear armor that couldn't protect against the only weapon that posed any threat? and it did make it part of the way through or Vader wouldn't have cried out. trooper armor can deflect a glancing blaster shot(in theory anyway :unsure), and i'd bet Vader's is made of much better quality stuff.

or:
Vader reflexively knocked Luke's hand away with teh Force before he could cut him inm half.
Luke was so surprised at actually landing a blow that he pulled back a little.
all of the above

Maybe. But we now know the only thing lightsabers can't penetrate is an energy force of equal or greater value; another lightsaber blade, for example. Qui-Gon used his lightsaber to penetrate solid blast doors; I doubt any body armor would be stronger than that.

Now I rationalize it as being due to either Luke's inexperience (this being his first time in a real duel with a live combatant), or lack of willingness to take another life in face-to-face combat (so he "pulled his punch"), or both. Besides, if he had killed Vader at that point it would have been a rather abrupt end to the Luke/Vader/father/son story. ;)

Lightsabers can cut through things in time. Luke's hit wasn't strong, and it was against armour. It also didn't cut through the hand rails on the death star in Jedi.

It's like a real sharp blade- If you just tap something, you'll leave a mark but to cut through requires more effort.
