Hi all, I've decided that I need to put the Hot Toys figure on the bike and recreate the iconic movie poster pose. The bike by itself while it looks great feels incomplete without the T800 astride the Harley. I'm keen though to make it look like the figure is sitting properly on the bike which will require me to adjust it. Anyway, step one, I've modified the Hot Toys shotgun which isn't screen accurate. Will post photos tomorrow when it's daylight. I'll spare you shots of Arnie without his pants on. I have been grinding away at his thighs and bottom with a Dremel. Poor Arnie.

Take 2. Of course. I decided blending the brass tube to the original lower barrel was too much work and then I realized the diameter of the barrels were too small anyway so I replaced them completely with a wider diameter aluminium tube. The clearance around where the barrels connect to the gun is much less than that allowed for on the Hot Toy shotgun. See photo of real prop attached.

Take 3. I've decided I'm going for Poster and Screen Accurate so gone are the over-sized barrels from my last post (which would have worked if I'd gone with that version of the gun) and here is the version I've settled on building, spread across these 3 images.

Long time between posts sorting out Arnie's belt.
The original that came with the Hot Toys figure had two issues. The first is that it had perished and fallen apart; (see shot No. 1) the second was that even if it hadn't perished, the belt and the buckle weren't accurate. See shots 2. and 3 showing the Hot Toy belt and the full-size one from the film.
Solution? Try everything from faux leather to card-stock to make the belt, and plastic to aluminum sheet to make the buckle. Finally settled on embossed card stock for the belt, painted with GAME black ink, then coated in PVA glue and backed by black electrical tape. For the buckle, I hand-crafted it out of aluminium sheet.

Just found this link to the auction of the hero prop gun so that means more work for me accurizing the shotgun. Great photos!

Finally managed to get a decent laser printer toner transfer onto brass sheet to create the "made by the winchester repeating arms co" plate on the handle which will be etched via a chemical photo etching process. Rather than iron the toner pattern on, I coated the brass sheet with nail polish remover and pressed the toner print onto the sheet. Leaving it to cure for a couple of hours is essential. Trust me.

Quick update. I'm well and truly heading down the rabbit hole now. After a few weeks trying to accurize the Hot Toys weapon I've come to the conclusion it would be easier to build the shotgun completely from scratch. So here I go. I'll start designing in Rhino tonight.
