Terminator 1 Weaponary

Seems the plan has changed for the better. While researching trying to find a JAC AR-18, I found a message board specifically dealing with classic and discontinued airsoft weapons and decided to ask for assistance in locating one. I was referred to a particular member there who apparently has an excellent track record in locating rare items such as the AR-18, so I wrote him a message asking for assistance and received a reply from him this morning informing me that in a week or so he could have one for me to purchase. He mentioned a non-functional one would be much quicker to locate and make a serious difference in the price which was awesome considering what I'm acquiring it for. So I cancelled the SIG 550 and should have an actual AR-18 airsoft in a week or two. Pictures to follow.

Also for anyone who is searching or know's someone searching for a classic/discontinued airsoft gun, I recommend going to Classicairsoft.net and asking for help. I got assistance from the members very quickly.

Very glad to hear this worked out for you! :thumbsup

Looking forward to the pics. Is this for a costume for yourself, or to go on a mannequin?

I'm really glad too and a bit surprised. It's a costume for myself. I'm awaiting my pants and boots to arrive next week, then the costume itself will be complete. Really looking forward to seeing it all put together, especially once I have the weapons included. I'll post some pics first chance I get.

Excellent.
You might even want to ditch the sling. It wasn't really in the police station scene, I think just one close up showed it and the rest of the scene it was missing.

Yes I know, the sling only appears at the end of the police station shootout and during the motorcycle chase. I plan to remove it possibly. The stock always need to be removed also an additional magazine taped jungle style onto the existing one. This was just how I received it.

My Tokyo Mauri Spas 12. Beautiful airsoft gun.

My replica jacket.

I'm dyeing my pants a dark brown and modifying my weapons and then I should have some full photo's of everything.

I've got an AR-180 (the semi-automatic version of the AR-18).

I only have one 40 round magazine, the movie prop used 2 taped together "jungle" style. I actually have pictures on my cell phone of the screen used gun. Some guy was taking it to local shows to show off and try to sell. He wanted about $25,000 for it if I recall. A little too much for me. :(

I'll say this; the real thing is heavy. You would need some massive forearm strength to heft it the way Arnold did. :D

Wow nice looking rifle.

Never held an actual AR-18. I have held an actual Spas 12 shotgun however and I concur with you on needing some massive forearm strength to hold it one handed, So I can only imagine hefting the AR in the other hand. Luckily both my airsoft models are fairly light in weight. The extended magazine for the JAC AR-18 was very expensive so I only bought one and bought a real AR extended magazine to jungle style tape with the other one.

Love your display, I plan on making one myself in the near future. Possibly a dual display for the AR-18 and Spas 12 together.

Finally finished assembling and customizing my AR-18. Just waiting on my pants to arrive and that will make this costume 100%. Lovely weapons and I agree gyoung, they would look very nice on a display similar to yours which I showed to a collegue of mine who was very impressed. Anyhow a couple photo's of the weapons. Great guns but they are on the heavy side, I can see what Cameron was trying to display having the T-800 wield and fire both weapons one handed to display the Terminator's power. Regardless lovely looking weapons and truly happy I was able to track them down. Stay tuned for photo's of myself in full costume.

Thanks man. I'm went with Coyote Tan BDU Pants. They seem to match the closest.
