Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

well that is reassuring...not

with incredible movies like: texas chainsaw massacre the beginning, battle: LA, and wrath of the titans, how can he not be good

oh wait, all those movies were terrible suckfests
honestly, id rather have bay than him

Hey!!! I don't take any offense to what you said there, but I must disagree about Battle: L.A.

I thought that film was well done, had some cliched moments, but not a bad film. Was it the best out there? No. No it was not, but it was done well and a very patriotic film at that. :thumbsup

Back On Topic: Uhhhh.... Michael Bay, 'Nuff said. :confused

HUGE HUGE Ninja Turtles fan from day 1 of the classic toon series.

Love the old films (okay I lied, #3 stinks)

TMNT was cool.

The Nickelodeon cartoon is WONDERFUL.

This movie is looking like a huge steaming pile of crap so far. I wonder if ANY of the essence of what makes TMNT great... oh wait, NT, will even be in this film. The studios should really look into people who are passionate about these characters who really want to do it justice. There's so many great capable minds out there.... why did it have to get in Bay's hands? I love Michael Bay films, well except not a fan of Transformers 2 and 3... This just isn't the movie for him to head up. I just see it being a disaster.

Maybe just the canister came from outer space. That I can live with. Anything more than that and I'll just have to take it upon myself to hunt down Bay and do the world a favor. :behave

Is it true that this film will be centered around Casey Jones?
Wouldn't put it past them.

Live action turtle films have always been obsessed with Casey Jones, even though his appearances in the cartoon were fairly minimal.

Think of it this way, Imagine if they had Rat King or Leatherhead as major villains in the movies, even though they only showed up minimally in the series.

I wouldn't have a problem that. If you can use small time villains while at the same time establishing your universe and characters, you could build up to something bigger.

The issue I have with Casey being the central character is.... well, the obvious. He's not a freaking turtle! It's like some isolated studio goat said "Whoa, whoa there guys. Do you honestly think audiences are going to see a movie where the turtles are the main characters? You'll scare them out of their minds! Make Casey the main character."

Like it or not, there is a fair amount of logic in that thinking. It takes a mainstream audience to make these kinds of movies profitable.

I bet the execs at the studio don't even remember the original turtle craze. There's a lot of teenagers out there who don't like this movie so far either, they collect the original turtles from the 90s or the newer versions. This movie is going to make the original movie look like Citizen Cane in comparison.

Yeah, I can totally see the mainstream audiences arguing over how the turtles were taking too much screen time away from the human characters. That kind of logic may have "instant gratification" written all over it, but it's not fool proof.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III already makes the original look like Citizen Kane.

Parallel Universe
Peter Laird is with fans in thinking Fox is a horrid April. Eastman likes it cause he's getting most of the cash and after seeing how bad he's run Heavy metal magazine cash is all he wants.

WTF?!?!? Did they purposefully pick people to motion capture that don't have martial arts experience?? Well..... At least I don't think they do. I dunno :facepalm
