Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Are we talking about alien robots or turtles in this thread? Or the moral upbringing of said alien robots or turtles? Or if Michael Bay has his way, robot alien turtles.

Re: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Probably not. DC has main characters that would dominate the film regardless of how many DC characters were in it. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and Flash. For the simple fact that Superman is there no one's gonna kill anyone. At most Wonder Woman will beat someone half to death then someone will say, "THAT'S ENOUGH DIANA!" then a long talk about morals for the kids.

Well not really. Thats probably why there isnt a war. If there was a war and the heros didnt kill anyone any thousands of people and some heros were murdered. Its would be pants. Fight a war without fighting... but thats why they havent done it.

Robots on the other hand, can't really die because they're not alive. Big O.P. died and was brought back a few days later. Any human would have gotten brain damage after 45 seconds.

this does make a good point. I think it was more hypothetical in terms of morals we ment. They cant really die I suppose but they can cease to exist. jazz never came back after being ripped in 2. Iron hide crumbled. O.P still had the spark. It was just b*&*£*%d! However several tf's have the spark completley kaput.

Makes me realise we're off topic here so ill cut the conversation out from now regarding TF I think.

Re: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Than how does that explain Jetfire or Wheelie? If they're Decepticons and always a threat, why let them join forces with the good guys?

Consider mercy shown. Dont forget wheelie changes sides while been used for Info. They need him at that point. And jetfire already has. Also tells them while they need him for info too. Its not like theyre about to shoot them both in the face and then they magically swap. They know jetfire isnt lying as hes helping them out. Wheelie probably gets believed as hes an example of being bossed around by the bigger Decepticons.
Its not like the autobots are stealth assassins killing every Decepticon like ninjas and for no reason just give wheelie or jetfire a chance. The hunting down wasnt my point anyway I just gave a reason why they did it in response.

Edit: im having a conversation with about 3 people here and I think some wires are crossed as to who said what. So lets just leave it lol

So...Danny Woodburn has been cast as Splinter in the new Turtles movie.

Splinter Has Been Cast in Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles | Superhero Hype

While Danny is a great actor I really have a hard time seeing him in this role.

I mean, it's great to see more actors like Danny and Peter Dinklage and Warwick Davis getting more high profile roles and ones that would typically demand an actor of average height, I just can't see Danny Woodburn pulling of a Japanese...

wait.....WHY NOT CAST AN ACTUAL JAPANESE ACTOR?!?!?!

****ing Bay.

So, going through some comments on that article, Megan Fox has been cast as April?? :facepalm

I agree with AlexBC. ****ing Michael Bay. :angry

To be honest, I really don't mind all that much that he cast Megan Fox. She's competent enough to pull off the kind of April this movie will probably be going with...

..but not casting an Asian actor for an Asian role is yet another slap to the face for Asian actors in Hollywood. God, James Hong would have been frigging perfect for this role. A tad cliched since he ends up playing EVERY OTHER Asian role in movies these days. Or the actor who supplied the voice for Master Oogway in Kung Fu Panda, Daniel Duk Kim. He would have been amazing.

But no. Bay cast a white guy.

****ing Bay!

Thats the exact reason asian actors dont bother with hollywood. While jet li and jackie chan are the only real asian stars to have made it in hollywood. There are alot that have tried and just gone back. Then again if you compare asian cinema to hollywood these days i cant blame them. Some of my fav movies have been asian anyway.

I would have given Donnie Yen the splinter role :) (one of my personal favourites)

Donnie Yen? Hmmm. I don't think his voice would be strong enough. Daniel Duk Kim was amazing in KFP. James Hong could do a really wily old Splinter.

Mostly going for his presence on film as a fighter tho. Still amazed at how dedicated he was when filming Ip-man. Thats what i like most, people that are dedicated to their role. It just makes the movie so much better.

Well, I can finally make a checkmark in the Pros column.

I will however keep an open mind. I liked the first Transformers and there was almost a Transformersesque plot in the third that was smothered by no no no and deep wang. And I did like Battle: LA.

I feel as if this movie is teetering on a fence and I'm unsure which side it will fall.

It's really a shame that they're going mocap instead of practical. I worry that they'll make all the turtles very stringy and small.

So is Danny Woodburn playing a Yoda sized splinter? Beacause that would be stupid...

And Will Arnett...he always plays these douchey characters. So I'm assuming he'll be a douchey bad guy or douchey corporate CEO. Any other role would be :facepalm

I still don't know what to think about her being April:

So....April's introduction in this movie has her jumping up and down on a trampoline while wearing a tight outfit with her breasts heaving beneath a barely zipped up top?

Oh, Bay.

And I bet it'll be in slow-motion.

Actually, Arnett is playing Vernon Fenwick.
