TE Gloss Armor

Here is a set of TE Glossy styrene I recently acquired. Uber-nice. I just wish that everything wasn't so permanent, like the elastic belt. It's going to take some engineering to get it free from the styrene belt. The holster is just looped around the belt for now. The shins have almost no give to them. I had to take the boots off and slide them over his feet to get them on. They are velcroed in back, but I was scared they would break if I forced them open too much. I also replaced the neck trim with more accurate stuff and countersunk the ear holes so the screws would sit flush with the helmet.

I'm also curious about the history of this set. Anybody know how many were made? I also noticed that there are two distinct biceps and two distinct forearms.

I can tell you that the faceplate is one of about 12 of my v1 style faceplates that I sent to Matt in a trade. He couldn't form them correctly which is why he needed them from me. I was moving on to the v2 so I was fine with the trade. :thumbsup

Cool armor. Don't know much about the history of it, but it's very rarely seen. Great score.

Mind if I use the first pic on my maker list on The Den?

I know of at least 4 other armours like this one owned by RPF members and another one was sold on ebay for molto denaro a couple of years back.

Great pics, I love the brown background:thumbsup

Cool. So based on Gino's comment, can we say that around 12 total were made? Or just 12 with his faceplates? Cuz TE says he made around 32 sets.

thanks for the comment, btw.

I sense something...a presence I've not felt since...

;)

Looking sweet! That's a really great display. :thumbsup

thanks. It is just gonna be display only. Far too expensive/rare/fragile to troop in. :lol

I own one of TE's Gloss Styrene suits and I have trooped in it on rare occasion. The rare occasion being Halloween. Note the arm parts in this picture are not the TE ones that came with it. My arms are too long for the TE parts.

Mine is a very rare Hero helmet variant, which seems to not be as popular in the trooper community.

Sweet!

nice score man!

Like to see a pic of your GF with hero bucket next to it.

So your wife still thinks you have 1 SW suit??? :rolleyes

I keed I keed...

Veedox, that is cool!!! Very nice!

Ken, I'll put GF on sometime and pose with him. Oh, wait, I can't do that! :lol

Sssshhh! I only have ONE suit. ONE!

That would also be one of my faceplates. ;)

Oh, no doubt that it is, TE even said it was. You can tell the plastic is slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY yellower than the cap/back.

Not to hijack Clutch's thread, but I think it would be cool, in celebration of Clutch's purchase, for everybody that owns the TE Glossy styrene armor to speak up and post pics! I think there are only 30-35 of us.
