TDKR "no sew" vest / belt, boots and gauntlet

Thanks! Shows the lengths I'll go to to avoid breaking out the sewing machine!

Thanks for breaking it down and adding all the extra pictures! I've already built this in my head over & over. Hopefully it comes together as smoothly as I imagined it...
Thanks gain, this really is a HUGE help!

Truly, the only tricky part is making the armor vest out of the RRV. To make the process really smooth, you could make a pattern out of scrap cloth, make sure it fits you (over the under vest!) and then, once you have gotten the size and shape just right, use the pattern to cut up the RRV.

Remember to take off and save the binding tape from the edges you cut (an X-acto or seam ripper works great to cut the stitches) so you can glue it back on at the end to re-finish the newly cut edges.

Ask if questions come up.

Good luck!

Okay ahoudini,
I just ordered everything, minus the little things I can get from my local crafts store. I'll let ya know of I run into any issues...

WOW... just amazing!!! VERY awesome and impressive! I have been putting together my Bane costume since July... and this is VERY inspiring!! GREAT work!!!

Hello ahoudini, this is one of the best Bane builds I have ever seen I am amazed with how much work you put into it. I'm having a problem with with the Flyye - MOLLE RRV Vest though, did you split the vest open (it looks like the vest is doubled in person) so that it was much longer to cut and have more fabric to work with?

Yes. All that remained at the end was the thin, "waxy" layer.

Ok, that was the only part I have had a problem with. If you don't mind me asking do you have a JBrown mask or a Gotham city FX one?

Gotham City, but I "punched up" the details with a black wash here and there and added a lot of blue and copper paint.

Can't wait to get this going.
Coldnetwork, are you taking on this build as well?

I am, but I do not currently have a camera. I already have the vest materials, just finished splitting the RRV vest. I have a lot of.... I'm not sure what color to call it, flesh maybe? I'm not sure, but I have a lot of flesh colored naugahyde that I plan on dying for the plates and belt, I still need batting though.

ahoudini & coldnetwork,
Maybe I'll have to wait until mine arrives to understand, but are you referring to the thickness of the RRV vest?

Yes, it is made of two thicknesses of fabric and I only used the thin, "waxy," waterproof layer to make Bane's armor vest.

Hey ahoudini, just another quick question did you remove all the molle straps from the RRV vest? I have taken some off, but am just thinking of putting the front pad over the majority of the straps. I also noticed how the velcro pouch above the vest seems to be just about perfect for the parts that wrap around the sides.
