TDK Joker props (merged)

Re: TDK Joker props

What color is the blade on the Joker Troodon? The cheapest one I've found so far is $330 with a black titanium nitride finish.

Edit: The pic here doesn't have the serrated blade. Does the joker one have the serrations? I really need to see this movie!

The one in the Gambol scene had a plain metal blade. I can't recall if it was polished (I don't think it was) or if it was one of Microtech's plain finishes; satin or stonewash.

I can't say for sure if it was serated. I think it was. They never showed the left blade face where the serations would be most visible. I pretty sure I saw the teeth at the edge from serations, but I can't be absolute sure until I see a serated blade from all angles.

Without a doubt IMO, this is the blade in that particular scene (and the one stuck in the Joker card in that one pic) but, I still don't think it's the one that was on the evidence table.

Re: TDK Joker props

Hmm, so it does. :lol

I'd say it's a good bet then.

So the knife in question would be a Troodon SE with a black tacticle coated handle, whatever that groove is called, serrations, and either a satin or stone washed blade.

I'll probably be seeing the movie again this week. I'm confident on most of the details so far, but one more viewing would cement it in my mind.

Re: TDK Joker props

so who can make this card? I would like to have it for my collection

also thanks paul for the joker cards to add to my colletion.

Re: TDK Joker props

ive got a graphic for that at home i made, the batman shot isnt 100% accurate, i used the first shot they had of the new batman suit, which is at a slightly different angle, but it was high quality. its only 5% different. Ill post tonight.

Re: TDK Joker props

Yep it is. :lol

Anybody want to identify the brand? :)

I can't wait for the DVD so I can get some screen caps of that scene and try and figure out what all is on the table.

Re: TDK Joker props

Side note:

What color was the Joker's pencil for the "Disappearing Pencil" trick?

Re: TDK Joker props

Pretty sure its a plain yellow-orange #2 pencil with a silver eraser... gaurd... holder... thing.
It was kind of worn looking, like chewed on/used. The eraser itself was rounded like it had been doing a lot of erasing.
That's what I picked up from my last IMAX visit anyway. :cool

Thanks buddy...it went by so fast that I couldn't get a great look at it. That piece is definately a keeper.:thumbsup

That scene is going down as an all time classic in my eyes :lol

Re: TDK Joker props

I believe the Pistol is a modified Glock 17 9mm with Stainless slide and 33 round magazine. The reason I say modified is that its apparently possible to take a stock Semi-Auto Glock and change the sear so that is fires in Auto only. Also the Glock 18c (Matrix 2, Transporter 2) has porting on the slide and barrel and fire mode selector on the left hand side which i didnt notice on the prop.

Re: TDK Joker props

has anyone found a solid method for printing the cards back to back? I know it varies with each printer, but would taking them (on a disk) to a place like Kinko's be better? Would their larger machines be more precise?

Re: TDK Joker props

you can set them up in pdf format and kinkoes can print them accurate.

I'm a graphic Designer for a print shop and our color machines all vary a iittle even with the PDF files. I have these set-up front and back in a PDF just haven't had time to experiment with them yet. What are you guys printing these on (paper wise)? I was gonna try it on 100# Gloss Cover, I figure that's the closest to a playing card.

Once I get my file lined up with trim marks I can post if if anyone wants it.

Re: TDK Joker props

maybe we're better off printing them onto slightly thinner cardstock and just glueing the halves together...

Re: TDK Joker props

You could enlarge the back 1-2% giving you a slight room for error with the printer and cutting.
