TDK Joker props (merged)

Re: TDK Joker props

I just made the Begins card on my printer on high quality photo setting. I used stick glue to make the coat even on a thin piece of cardstock and so far it is turning ot pretty good. The only gripe that I have is that I couldn't get the back of the card lined up with the front of the card. It is off, not enough for someone to notice other than me, but it is going to bother the h*(& out of me.

I am thinking about torching it and then putting it in the "Evidence Bag". Has anyone done this yet, or has everyone left it alone?

Re: TDK Joker props

Just got my knife. Pretty fast shipping. It comes with the saftey on, so it took me a bit to figure out it wasn't broken. :lol You can see where the blade is getting scratched near the slot, but still not bad for a chinese knock-off.

http://www.assistedknife.com/index.cfm/fa/items.main/parentcat/24998/subcatid/59388/id/353808 ive been lookin through it and this looks close to it... i wish i had better screen caps tho

I second the screen caps bit. Just a good shot of the knife, the handle, the blade, something other than that dark picture of it stuck in the card.

It's almost got to be a microtech or a dalton or something of the sort thought. They're the only knives I've seen so far that even come close to the general shape.

It's just that, the "main" knife was a cheap knockoff, so it throws me a bit as to why the more obscure one would be a more expensive one.

I think Pozo was closer than I originaly suspected. I took a grab from one of the trailers and lo and behold, there's a Microtech knife sitting on the evidence table. Bad thing is, there are so many variations and custom configurations for Microtech knives, that it makes tracking down the exact one rather difficult.
I found a Troodon that was pretty close and I used that in my comparison shot. The only detail that doesn't really match up, is the angle of the front of the handle.
At this point Im still a bit torn between a custom Troodon and a custom Scarab. I'm leaning toward Troodon but I need more referance.

Is there a making of book or anything of the sort that might have something in it?

Can anybody somehow get some screen caps of the scene where he confronts Gambol?

I have the art of book on order, should be here today or tomorrow. If there's anything relating I'll let you know and post some scans.

Alterego.com had those cards in stock when I posted the link, I guess I should have pm'd it to you - sorry!

Oh no, it's not your fault. I should have grabbed a set when I firsted clicked on it. I didn't think they'd go out of stock so fast. :lol
Hopefully they'll get more in after the release date.

But yeah, if you can find some pics or something in the artbook by all means, please post. :D

I really wish I didn't pass on that Poker set as well, I wasn't aware that it came with 54 Joker cards :eek

Re: TDK Joker props

I wish you the best of luck trying to find one boss, but autos and sliders are illegal here.

With that said, IF it were possible to find one, hide it. Johnny Law can be a rough guy to convince.

Re: TDK Joker props

Got back from the movie again. Took a good look at the knife in the scene with Gambol. Definitely a Microtech Troodon. No other Microtech knives have the that blade shape with the groove and holes cut into it.

However, at the same time, I don't think it's the same knife that's in front on the evidence table.

Re: TDK Joker props

So the Jokers handgun, that's a Glock 18 with an extended mag right?

And the revolver he uses in the penthouse, isn't that the same gun Harvey uses? Has it been ID'ed yet?

I'm pretty sure the sawed off shotgun is Remington 870.

Im trying to figure out all of his various weapons so I can collect as many as possible.

Re: TDK Joker props

I think if we want to see one in Canada, were going to have a locked in blade. Which would mean that it would have no usable options. Better to have a static prop then non?

Or maybe have a fully dulled blade?

Re: TDK Joker props

What color is the blade on the Joker Troodon? The cheapest one I've found so far is $330 with a black titanium nitride finish.

Edit: The pic here doesn't have the serrated blade. Does the joker one have the serrations? I really need to see this movie!

Exactly, better to have a static prop than nothing. Maybe some nice US member could send em in pieces.. lol

Re: TDK Joker props

Truthfully, it would more then likely pass customs and get to you. There was a local store that had over $1000 worth of items confiscated by the RCMP because it was all illegal. His excuse was if he could get it over the border how could it be illegal?

I would love to find out if we could modify it in any way so it could be legal
