Re: TDK Joker props

I also notice that Rubies is doing the Mask from the Back robbery. but from the picture that I have seen they need to be dirty up a little.

whats your suggested method to be sure to get the backs lined up correctly when printing, i always have trouble with that, sinec prints never seem to grab paper the same.

I printed nine fronts on one side and nine on the back then I started adding white space to the right side of the backs until I got them to line up. Since every printer is a little different you'll need to use trial and error to get them to line up perfectly.

I also notice that Rubies is doing the Mask from the Back robbery. put from the picture that I have seen they need to be dirty up a little.

I got one of those, and put it up on eBay. The adult size is huge and the child size is a little too tight for my 24" head but they actually look pretty good up close.

Re: TDK Joker props

I saw the Rubies Joker mask and was really disappointed......I mean if you have the rights to the license why not at least make it accurate to the movie, not to mention how cheap and thin they are so they can't even hold their own shape.

When you compare them side by side the differences are pretty obvious.
The Rubies' eyebrows are too high up making it look more surprised/worried instead of the grumpy/surly.... and the distance between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip is too short on the Rubies mask.....aaand the eyebrows are carved in on the pictures I've seen of the Rubies mask, so it isn't a simple matter of repainting.......lame.......hopefully someone will offer an more screen accurate and higher quality mask.

Re: TDK Joker props

Rubies is a costume company. They make cheap stuff for the general public. They should never be considered as anything more. Remember their attempt at doing high end Star Wars helmets? They failed miserably.

Anyone seen this shot?

That's odd. The card is the same as in the other picture, but the knife is the one that's already been ID'd. Does anybody know where the other picture of the card with the knife through it is from? Could possibly help shed some light on the elusive little bugger.

Agreed. I wasnt expecting much from them. Id love a screen acurate one but I never really thought they would be making it

Re: TDK Joker props

no clue why they made them latex when they could have just as easily made them cheap vacuforms and theyd at least keep a shape then.

I'm trying to make the badge. I have a crappy cam recording of the movie as reference (which isn't much!).

Re: TDK Joker props

Thanks to "paulv70" for the card artwork.

Here are a couple cards that I printed today.

They are printed on regular card stock and still need to have the corners cut.

Has anyone used the playing card stock from plaincards.com?

I think the card stock needs to be heavier and a little more glossy.

Thanks Again
Brian

Those look great! I tried plaincards but the paper was still too light and the toner from my laser printer didn't adhere very well. Also the software they supplied didn't work at all. The prints were all off.

Re: TDK Joker props

So is that joker card deck an accurate set of all the movie cards? Like, back and font and all that jazz? I want one, but if all the backs are the same or something...

On another note:

I didn't even notice it before. Looking at the picture closer, there isn't a series of cutouts in the blade. Just one big slot. You can see the bloodied edge of the card and the joker's tail through the cutout which makes it look like it has a series of smaller cuts when it really doesn't. That also clears up what I saw in the film, which I thought was just a grove with the cutouts in it.
This makes my last 3 days of searching rather pointless as I've been looking for the wrong bloody thing! :lol
