TDK Joker costume - anyone working on one?

Anyone know if the "makeup" is permanent, like the Jack Nicholson version? Hope so, otherwise it's just a psycho in makeup.

It's not. There's photos out there showing the makeup smeared and starting to rub off like it's not been reapplied in some time.

Spidey didnt make his webshooters in Raimis movies.

Certainly wasnt that big a deal.

Neither is this.

The core of the character for The Joker, is that he had a really bad day once. Just like Wayne. Brothers in darkness.

I wasnt thrilled to hear it was make up.

But who is to say what the future brings for the character in these films.

Nolan has respected the source material to my satisfication for the first film.

Only Mask of the Phantasm had done that before in my opinion.

After seeing the recent trailer, I am optimistic Nolan has things dialed in again.

True, but he did in the comics, and the comics came first.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a purist, BUT i'm not trying to put down the vision of the director. I am VERY excited about this movie and I really hope they don't just intro a cool villain and then kill him/her off in the end.

I'm hoping that Ledger's Joker is more "realistic" than Nicholson's. If they're not going to follow the original stories from the comic, then I would like to see a modern edge on the character personas.

Sure, it's not permanent, but it's worse...he puts it on once, and never takes it off. It starts to affect his skin.

from the trailer and leaked footage, it looks like he's a pretty believable madman.

i'm loving it so far.

i haven't been this excited about a bat movie since waiting in line for hours on opening morning for the one in '89!

The shirt looks like a 70s vintage print. Which may help in the fabric search. I'm sure the shirt itself was custom made for the film tho, because they usually have several of each costume when filming. I don't see why they would custom print the fabric for one shirt though.

The vest looks to be a silk taffeta. If you prewash it, it gets that crinkle texture to it. Nothing for sure, but from just this one pic, that would be my initial reaction.

They easily could have had a run of custom printed fabric done for just this shirt. In Casino Royale, Bond's tropical shirt in the chase scene was custom printed and sewn just for the movie. A few members of one of the Bond boards has contacted the company that made the shirts to have replica's done. Gonna be my most expensive shirt ever.

I found the perfect purple wool for my jacket, but they only had two yards at the fabric shop.
Thankfully, they are able to order more for me.

I sculpted some prostetics for this Joker a couple weeks ago, but the mold that I made from was kind of rough so I am probably going to have to re-mold mine. Sooner or later I'll finish these up and put some pics up

That does look great! What's so illusory about it? Did you just print out the design and fold yourself a collar? :lol

haha, no, it was a bunch of iron-on pieces i made, so if you look at the shirt beyond that point, it's just white.
