TDK: Harvey Dent/Two Face's Coin

Those definitely look amazing.
One of my all time favorite props. Since the coin is so important to the character of Two-Face. More so than most props for a lot of characters.

here's my go at it, done in resin. Molded one side and the edge, then put the coin back in the mold reversed and molded that side, so i got a 2 headed mold with an invisible seamline. Then put in the scratches etc and a nice paintjob. Tadaa.

Awesome work!

How does it flip?

I wonder what kind of results you would get using metal powder mixed in with the resin. Like if it would be a little more weighty and have a nice metallic clank when it lands. :confused

it would be heavier and polishable like metal, and cold, but i dont think it would ring like a coin.

I plan to do something like this soon. Just have to get some resin and powder. What did you use to paint your coin?

krylon chrome, then wet and dry washes of black acrylic, and then sealed with gloss varnish.

I always thought that Rustoleum's Chrome was the closest thing out there to real chrome, just based on the ones I've tried anyways.

Got my two yesterday and they're awesome. Very quick delivery. PTK sent it out on the 13th and it showed up in my mailbox on the 15th.

The hardest thing I had to do was pick which one is going to be the main display piece. They're both so great looking. Now I just have to wait for my easles and cases that I ordered elsewhere.

I will have to post of pic of them sometime.

Hey folks! I sorted out the details with the secret service, and I spent the day working on the processes and came up with these...(more details in the junkyard Harvey Dent Two Face's Coin thread)

Let me know what you think!

What kind of mold did you use to make those? And what kind of metal are they cast in?

FINAL RUN....if you want one, let me know!

Hi, just a heads up, I'm currently working on the final run of the Two Face prop coin. The number of orders are slowing down, so it seems like everyone that wants one has got one. So I plan on disassembling my rented shop space in the next week or 2.
So if you were out of the loop or on the fence about getting one, now would be the time to let me know if you are interested.

Please don't post here....please go to the interest thread in the junkyard and read the info/directions there:

http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=47362&referrerid=5381

and yes I am accepting orders from people that are too new or don't have enough posts to post in the junkyard as long as you've joined theRPF before 8/26/2008

Thanks to everyone that made this project a success! :)

Just a bit of info. I tried gun blueing on the back of my coin and it does work. I carry my coin a lot and some of the high spots were getting kinda shiny. I used a sponge to wipe the back with Perma Blue that I picked up at Walmart and it turned the back a nice dark grey color. After it set for a few minutes I took a scotchbrite pad and gave it a few wipes. Looks brand new.....well, it looks nice and charred again!
