That makes sence I forgot about the summer/winter coat in real life but I dont think Hoth had a Summer.

Yeah, it's his summer coat.:lol I actually was thinking this, imagining what he'd look like all cleaned up or on different planets. (aren't they used on other worlds?) But really there are several reasons for the fur choice, artistic liscense. I have taken some liberties with this one. cost, this fur was affordable. plus it has the nap and texture I wanted. I am going to airbrush it greys and other tints. and I'll probably put ice and snow on last.
Also, it is really hard to tell what their actual color is with all that ice and snow.:confused

Sure, it's got great Beaches. I think once all the Snow and crap gets on there it could be green.

Seriously it probably has green tints as well, all the moisture that gets in there with snow and ice, algea and mold probably would grow in it. The color choice I made allows for a range of finishes.

Art finish complete and he is mounted on the wall. For now he is temporarily in the living room. My wife heard me drilling and got up to see what I was doing....but it was already to late, she walked in to find this huge beast in the living room.:eek I doubt this will be his permanent home judging by her reaction. However she is a good sport and supports all my projects!:love

I want to thank everyone for their compliments and comments, this has been a fun challenge with a great personal reward. I have been encouraged to complete this as a walk around costume(me as the rider). Going forward will entail construction of the body of the beast, with stilts in the legs, also plan to have reactive animation by employing springs in the joints. This next phase will be alot more of a challenge and may be put on hold while I build a budget for it. Speaking of that, anyone interested in this head as a raw cast or completed taxidermy, please PM me.
