TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here!

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

Starting last week I've added this to my routine. It's the workout I do on the p90x3 off day:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulYeTUS-L3Q&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Check it out, I could do about 50% of it the first time, now I'm at about 70%

Definitely good for spidey

Yeah, it's killer... I'm doing it again next Friday and Sunday. Helping my dance as well lol.
Trust me, if you can do even 30% of the movement, you're fine

I'm pretty sure my yoga instructor would hit you on the head with a ruler for saying that haha. He started yoga at 35 as a joke to how un flexible he was. Now he teaches it, is 39, and is like as flexible as a professional ballet dancer haha

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

I'm kinda going the other way; I've always been a fairly slim guy, but at 6'4" I'm a bit tall for Spidey.

I'm making a Batman costume (which is why I'm here) so I'm trying to build myself up a bit.

I've been doing Keysi for a couple of years anyway, but now I'm hitting the carbs and protein hard. Seems to be working, slowly but surely.

(Sorry for mentioning Batman in the Marvel forum! :p )

I was skinny too. I have to eat ca. 3000kcal a day. I drink a shake every morning and after training. Otherwise i could not reach it. And since i do like chest with 2 shoet dumbbells each 40lbs for 3 sets and then again 3sets with 30lbs. And only 20secs break between the sets. This helped me to gain my muscles alot also to have defined.
And we r all a family. No matter if dc or marvel ;)

I love this thread!

I'm 6'3" (A little tall for Spidey, I know) and a hair under 200lbs. I focus mainly on weight training, my physique is pretty decent except I carry excess weight in my midsection. I'm trying to get my abs back in time for Emerald City comic-con at the end of March. I am finally ponying up for a legit comic-style sub-dyed suit, and TJack's ASM2 lenses are in the mail. (A face shell is in my future, too!)

Here's a pic from the ASM seattle midnight premiere in 2012 (I was a bit smaller then, the suit is definitely tighter in the arms/chest now)

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

Hey guys and gals. I'm starting insanity this Monday. Not going to be 100% on the nutrition side as I actually can't afford it but I will be watching what I eat and not having any pizzas or mad pig outs on burgers and stuff. I'm just looking for any tips from you folks who may have done it or p90x. I heard they were similar but p90x is longer for more consistancy. I'm using this as a starting block. I usually run 5-7km four times a week and do a pretty good weight training regime(got really good results in a month and just kept at it and adding) but I still have a gut, moobs, bit of an arse and love handles. I weigh 83kg(183lbs) and I am 5ft11. Oh, and I'm 23.

Any tips you folks have to offer would be greatly appreciated and welcome. Thanks.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

First the shakes and stuff is not nessecary really. For me it just makes ot easier to reach my needed kcal. I am 5"11 too and weight ca. 78kg. My body fat is like 4-8% im not sure. Never messuerd it.

Running is good for health etc. But doesnt let u lose weight. I never run tbh cuz its boring to me loo.

For me a found pretty good ways to shape and gain muscles n get ripped. I miss the mauy thai workouts tho. I use 2 short dumbells and single weights for my workouts.

In ur case i would keep going as u do and dont eat too much and push weight or do workputs (pushups etc) you have to burn more than u eat so u convert the overfat into muscles.

If you want i can list up tomorrpw what i do on regular basis for a lil hint how u can go.

If im wrong with any of my advices you other guys are welcome to correct me :)

You have a video with some good joga stuff?

I'd start with something pre-set, like the P90x yogax workout. It's what got me flexible to begin with.

If you want a way to get that single workout, go ahead and pm me.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

P90X - P90X Workout - P90X Workout Review - Extreme Home Fitness Workout aka PX90 - beachbody.com

I'm not a nutritionist or trainer, but for the folks who are training but not eating right, I would strongly encourage you to reassess your approach. Most of what the data I've seen and books I've read will tell you what you eat is more important than how you train. So if you're busting your ass in the gym, and then going home and scarfing down a pizza and beer you will never get there.

I'm not saying you need to spend money on protein shakes and recovery drinks, just eat lots of protein coupled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Cut out as much processed food as you can.

As for me, I'm half way through P90X2. My strength continues to improve and I'm noticing some changes in how I look.

And at 6'3" I'm happy to see there a few other tall Spider-Men in the group here!
