TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here!

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

I am looking to get into shape for London Comiccon in May. I started going to the gym back in December doing circuit machines to increase my overall fitness but the winter break and university got in the way. I've been going to the gym 3 times a week for the past 3 weeks and I started lifting (starting strength!) last week. I'm 5'8" and started off at 120lbs (skinny ass dude). My muscles are already more defined than before and I gained a few pounds already but the lifting should really get my physique going. Pretty excited already!

Dont use tooich weight at the begin. Could be bad for ur wrists and stuff :)
And as i wrote earlier i vary the weights i lift. Eg. Biceps 3 sets with 30lbs and after it 3 sets with 20lbs.
And between the sets only 20secs break so the muscles dont cool down again
Works awesome for me :)

Yeah man I know! I'm very careful with adding weight and warming up before working sets. I am very cautious about using proper form as well. The last thing I want is to get a nasty injury so I can't actually get into shape. Thanks for the comments though! :)

Thats good :) you do it the right way
(In my opinion :) )
Being in shape is nothing when its not healthy :)
I took me a while till i started with weight. But it was due to my bad back (close to a slipped disk) now my back is all good tho.

This has been great to keep up to date to seeing other members steadily meet there goals. It's been about a little over a month and a half since I've really started my workout routine and diet. I've drop from 20.3 to 16.(something) of body fat according to the Bod Pod (air displacement) test I'm using. I've hoping to be around 8% or 10% by June, which right now seems entirely reasonable. I'm still waiting on my dye sublimation print, and it finally shipped out, but I figured I might as well workout on the other half of the suit to pass the time.:D

Seems like everyone is trying to gain but what about you web-heads that are happy with your spidey physique? What are you doing to maintain so that you dont have to go out and buy new costumes. I'm just reaching that point with my currents

Keep doing what u r doing. When u use weights dont get higher with them. Thats what i would do. For a while indidnt gain anything. Now since i use protein shake i gain again. Maybe u can reduce the amount u do abit.

As i know 1kg of muscles need 50kcal a day to maintain its size. Maybe that helps to get a ca. Amount of kcal u need a day. 1800kcal (daily use of a normal guy) + the kcal u gained of muscles :)

A **** ton of dance classes, yoga, and p90x3.
But even more important is that I watch what I eat.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

Hey all I figured I'd jump in on this topic and offer some advise, todays is my first day of my get cut cycle. I have been on a gain cycle for about 3 months where I ate pretty much whatever I wanted and lifted heavy. I went from 190-210, and about 10 pounds of that is un wanted fat. Today starts with a 48 hour juice cleanse followed by a 6 month carb free high protein diet. As far a work out goes I will be doing cardio/strength alternating days 5 days a week with 2 days off. I have perfected my diet as I have been on a clean eating diet for a little over a year with exception of the last 3 months where I have been trying to gain. Unfortunately half of the weight I gained is around my stomach so I will have to work hard to get rid of that, and honestly in my experience that is 90% diet. I know many folks might disagree with me, but it really just depends on your body type and metabolism. I do not take any supplements I believe you can get all the vitamins and protein you need from a carefully crafted diet. However, if something is working for you DONT CHANGE IT! Any how I just wanted to share my story and experience there is a TON of great fitness information in this thread, esp for that super hero body we are all trying to achieve. If anyone wants help putting together a good great tasting non repetitive diet together for cutting that unwanted weight feel free to PM me. I do know what works well for my body type and maybe it can help you! I don't just stay fit for fun I stay fit because my life depends on in I am a United States Air Force Firefighter.

Im good with my workout. Especially doing 3 sets high weight and then 3 sets with 5lbs less works great on getting nice shaped muscles. If anybody wants i can list my weekly workouts.

Starting last week I've added this to my routine. It's the workout I do on the p90x3 off day:

Check it out, I could do about 50% of it the first time, now I'm at about 70%

Definitely good for spidey
