Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

I had my first alcoholic beverage in seven weeks just now. And I don't know why I feel ashamed but it made me do a double workout day just because... I'm back on the house though now and half way through P90x3. I'll post the before and after pictures when I'm done.

Eat 4 breasts throughout the day, not in one sitting. Your body can only digest a certain amount of protein at one time... and it's no where near 80g an hour. More like 30. So the other 50 will not be used. And we all know what happens when food isn't used... it's stored as fat.

This was towards the guy saying he eat 4 chicken breasts in a stir fry, forgot to quote.

That'd be me lol.

Whilst I agree with you somewhat, for me it worked better eating in one sitting. Now that I've stopped and been eating it throughout the day, I've actually gained fat and have gone up a waist size. Not the end of the world but now I can't really wear lots of my trousers for long haha. I'm going to focus on the cardio and just toning with weights.

I'm like MorbidCharlie, genetically I can/could eat lots of crap and not gain anything, but this now seems to have caught up with me.

While I agree with you that it is better to spread your protein intake throughout the day (and where possible eat the biggest portion after your workout), the undigested protein itself would not be stored as fat. Any excess calories from the protein would be, but if eating at a deficit then there would be no excess calories to store as fat.

From what I understand it takes more energy for your body to digest the protein in meat than it does for it to digest carbohydrates or fat, so in terms of fat burning it would still be better to eat 80g of protein than it would be to eat 40g protein and 40g carbs.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

Yeah, that's true. I meant the left over calories, perhaps I didn't word it as well as I could have, but 80g of protein is 320 calories, and add in the rest of the stuff from the stir fry and he's likely eating more calories than the body needs, which, if he's bulking, is fair enough to a certain degree. But I think he, and everyone else, would be better off maybe making the huge batch, and then splitting it into 2/3 separate portions and eating it throughout the day.

On another note, guys. Please listen to your bodies. While there's a lot of great advice on here, take into account that ONE diet doesn't work for everyone, we all have different genetic requirements. If you eat something and you feel tired after it, chances are your body is having a hard time dealing with it, and you maybe shouldn't have eaten it. Some people are Carb sensitive, some aren't. So although Carbs get a bad wrap, some of you may actually benefit more by embracing the carbs. It's all about what works for you and your metabolic type. But completely cutting carbs is only beneficial when cutting, if you're looking to bulk, and are eating very little carbs, then you're not going to put a lot of mass on. Just experiment and see what works for you :)

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

I've been trying to watch what I eat. Also stopped going to the gym, but I plan on getting back at that next week. 3 days a week at the gym is what I will be doing. And running a lot...
2014-01-27 14.55.05.jpgI'd like to work on definition in my chest and abdomen
2014-01-27 14.55.18.jpgI'm happy with my arms for the most part. i'd like a bicep split though.. I don't see that happening anytime soon though xD
2014-01-27 14.55.37.jpgI really want to do some work on my back and shoulders... don't really know how to get definition in them.
2014-01-27 14.55.56.jpgAnd as for my "pecs" well they look like bitch ****.

Anybody have any tips on definition? I'm not looking to get bigger, I'm actually looking to drop a few pounds. I'm 5'10", 155lbs right now but I've really let myself go..

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

OneTrickTony: you're pictures make you look pretty thin. Gaining definition requires one to have a fair amount of muscle mass first.
(Assuming you are relatively new to weightlifting)

That being said, if I were you, I would go to the gym and lift in the 3 sets of 10 reps range. Breaking day 1 into chest, tris, and shoulders (upper body push day), day2 will be all legs, mad day 3 would be back and biceps (upper body pull days). Rest between sets should be about 60seconds as you're working on hypertrophy.

just my 2cents

I agree with Ender on this one. To gain definition pretty much requires that you have an increased muscle mass, and to do that you'll need to gain it.

Looks like you might have to start on a short bulking regime to try and increase that muscle mass. Try some weightlifting or even bodyweight exercises (squats/pushups/crunches/chinups) to try and increase that mass. Smashing out a decent protein powder post-workout would definitely help too.

You might even find that you end up gaining a little weight from it, but it's definitely not a bad thing.

Totally agree :) and remember to keep your nutrition on point too so you can get the best result

Thanks for the help man! Do you have any suggestions on what workout i should be doing for tri's and shoulders? or back? I am pretty new to lifting. I've just recently stopped cause of a break in school and i'm having a hard time getting into it again. also what 3 days should i go?

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

Hmm well if you're lifting at your school I'd recommend M-W-F, every week. Commit to it for three weeks and come the fourth week you'll be stoked to lift!

Monday (Chest, Tri, Shoulders):
Week 1 machine press (week 2 forward - barbell bench press ) 4sets of 10 reps with 60s rest
Incline dumbbell bench press 3sets of 10reps
stand shoulder press 3sets of 10 reps
delt raises 3sets 10reps
tricep cable extensions 3sets 10 reps
finish off with 2 sets of push ups. Hands closest together.

If you need more help just let me know. If you're uncomfortable doing any of those exercises let me know.

side note: lifting at a school gym can really suck. Kids judge everything strictly on weight being pushed. Don't push yourself harder then you can manage, the amount of weight you're working with is really secondary to technique.

ps. I'm launching a fitness app for iPhone within the next month. I hope this app will help everyone reach their goals. I'll post and let everyone know when it's live. Ill be giving all who ask promo codes for 2 months of free training (by amazing trainers on my staff)

Thee problem with m w f is that there are teams lifting some days.. i think they lift mondays and wednesdays.. not positive though. I was lifting for like 3 months before, but like i said, the break messed everything up. I will be sure to post an update though :D thank you for your help!

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Get your Spidey Physique tips on exercise and nutrition here

With the split ender has given, any 3 days would work, as your muscles are getting enough rest in between workouts. A problem would arise, say if you did Back on Tuesday and Biceps on Wednesday (Biceps are worked as a secondary with back.) But with the split you have (Push, Pull, Legs. basically) Any 3 days you can will do.

Also, like Ender said, for definition, you first need to gain lean muscle mass. I'm afraid 'toning up' is a myth, muscles, like all cells, can only do 1 of 3 things. Stay the same, get bigger, or get smaller. So, you first need to make your muscles bigger, and then make your fat cells smaller, thus giving a 'toning' effect.

Focus on Compound lifts - Squats, Deadlifts, Bench press, Over head press, Rows. 5-8 reps for these big exercises but more sets. Then for the isolation exercises go for higher reps and fewer sets, for conditioning. Not disagreeing with Ender, just offering another option, but what he say's is solid advice. Make sure you have your form down before even thinking about lifting heavy. =]

GOOD LUCK!

Hey man, congrats on your incredible physique, but please don't buy those suits from zentai-zentai, they are made using stolen print files.

Thanks brother, I see. Just trying to get a decent suit for a cheap-decent price.
Btw your suit in incredible blew my mind, a big inspiration for me to.

No worries, I understand (that's what everybody wants). But if people support companies that have stolen from and undercut the creators of print files, it makes the creators less likely to continue creating by taking sales away from forum members, and makes it more likely that Sony or Marvel will come and shut down hobby suitmakers in general. It's just all-around bad for the hobby.
If you want a super-discounted suit, instead of paying separate printing, sewing, tailoring like most builds, you can contact someone like kcr7pr in Puerto Rico to do the all-in-one deal, who seems to not have to charge for his sewing labor or something:http://www.therpf.com/f13/proffesio...-wait-time-get-yours-before-halloween-187742/

Thanks for the kind words. I've never gotten used to hearing that, but I'm glad so many people seem to appreciate my project. :)

Not a bad deal at all. Will keep that for the future. But for spandex since I've never worn any before. Would I take a generic size or custom fit, I really want to pop out and let me physique be shown off. I know you don't like zentai but they have charts but if I get my own spandex for the suit should I get a generic size or what?

Its awesome man, one day my goal is to get a suit that amazing and mulitple suits.

You should always go with custom sizing if it's available, especially since you have such a large upper body for your smaller frame. Thing is, though, nobody is going to 'pop out' and really show off their muscles in a spandex suit without contour shading. The nature of the fabric is that it rides from high-point to high-point and blurs and compresses your musculature to a degree. Even really jacked people don't look that defined in lycra:
